I agree sharke. but I do have a reason to have a larger screen - mainly for live music sets. I put my music on my ipad for playing live!

Our Worship band members have been doing the same for a while.  The iPad is clipped to the mic stand with one of the IK gadgets and they play their sheet music from the iPad.  I can't remember what program the WL said he was using, but it allows him to easily change keys and then he emails it out to the band to load up on their pads.

Our WL, the pianist and me (keyboardist) use them.  the rest of the band use printed sheets.
we use Forscore, but it doesn't change keys for us!

and I'm the only one using an iKlip on a mic stand - the WL uses a music stand and the pianist, well, on the piano!

Reese, I think Forscore is what he is using; he told me what the app was and that sounds familiar.  I just looked it up. At least 3 of them have iPads, I was wondering how they flipped pages and from what I just read, that can be controlled by a floor stomp.  My guess is the WL is the one with the stomp, sinking them all together.  Very cool.  He must be editing and making key changes in some other program and then loading them into Forscore.  The WL mentioned that he forwards the pdf's to the band late in the week and they load them up on their iPad or print the sheet music for Sunday.  I know he was on the Mac before the Christmas service changing the key for Silent Night.  My daughter played violin, and she learned it in B flat, he adjusted the sheet music prior to the service and the band changed key to accomidate my daughter.

He has been trying to talk me into subbing on occasion.  That is how we got into a discussion on Forscore.  I basically told him that if he would email the numbers to me for a few weeks and let me practice the regular material that they play, I would give it a try.  I was not about to walk up infront of several hundred people and wing it.  The dude has never followed through, so I have left it alone.

yes, I have a footswitch to control my page turns as well.  but I don't think it will control everyone else's - they have to turn pages on their own.

you can turn pages either by finger swipe or by switch (can be footswitch or something like a little remote control).  http://store.airturn.com/

our WL does make key changes in other programs and then creates a PDF and posts it on a dropbox account that we all have access to, then he just sends us the names of the songs and the key we're playing in and we go to dropbox, download it into forscore and we're set for the set!
