Akai MPK25 Midi Issues

1) running Windows XP3
2) the Akai shows up as USB Audio Device Device Manager > Sound and Video Game Controller

problem, does not generate the mini keyboard/midi indicator in the system tray.  Had same problem with MPD18 and had to return... was hoping that they would have some drivers written for a nice product like the MPK25.. but now, same on plug and play that didn't work for MPD

I have open midi devices in the registry.. maybe I'll do a clean install??  Really frustrating.. anybody out there running Win XP that is having midi issues with Akai devices?

Thanks.

Maybe you hit the XP midi device limit? (ten devices) That's usually was the culprit for me when I was using XP 32bit... It's an issue with 32 bit operating systems... Rusty

no, have been down that path.  Once again, it reads in USB, just doesn't show up as MIDI.. shouldn't the keyboard continuously generate midi?
