Nice harmonized guitars. Like the change at about 1:30. But then you got changes all over the place. Well done

Bat, I remember hearing this a couple years back. Liked it then, still like it. Reminds me a little of Steve Vai. Awesome track and playing.

hi mcourter, yea, i like playing harmony guitars. some folks think it might be an effect or something, but it's just plain ole multitracked. i have this cool control on my super strat, a "Q" filter, it allows me to dial in the inductance from full to less, on any pickup config.... and so on each track, even tho i'm on the same pickup, it sounds different due to the use of that Q filter. it's very useful! thanks for listening!

thanks daryl, it was fun going back and learning harmonies that fit the original melody, which was a one-take, just channeling..... it worked, so then i had to actually learn it! LOL just so i could go back and play harmonies on it.......

freddy J, thanks for commenting on this one..... yes, this one i put out in 2010..... it has live drum tracks on it, that were left overs from my previous album.... had a wonderful drummer to work with, he made this thing really breathe!

I shared many a pint with Allan Holdsworth in the 1980's (Guildford, Surrey, England). This is a fine rendition. I hope he listens to this one day, Kudos Dominic

that's a cool story, dominic, pints with AH i met AH in charlotte NC, he was doing a gig at a small club called the double door Inn..... a really awesome gig. afterwards, folks were getting him to sign albums and stuff, and i just sat nearby and watched.... and some dude comes up to him and starts talking to him about that album he did that he was so pissed off about.... really got him riled up, i was a bit shocked. after, he was there at the bar more or less alone, and i spoke to him briefly, and we joked, and that seemed to chill him out..... and we shared a beer. LOL beer, the great leveler. i always admired Holdsworth for sticking to his guns with his music, even in the face of poverty! and that inspired this song. i thought of putting a lyric to it, but honestly, the guitar says it all for me. it is supposed to be bittersweet, the melody.... that's why the extended outro was required (in my mind) to 'resolve' the bittersweet into happiness and celebration. at least, that was the goal. hey, thanks a lot for chiming in.

Glad I got to listen before it disappeared... Loved the little slides, lead-in bends/whammy action, and trailing pull-offs - very AH-esque. The minor to major lift in the second half was effective! Long time AH fan here, too, since the 70's.
