Enjoyed it. No loops!!! nice mix.  Had more of a country feel to it than rock IMO.

Nice song. Very well crafted and performed. Mix sounds good to me. Ending was a little curt.

I recorded a different "Almost There" about three years ago.  This one is a gospel song written by Nashville songwriter Jimmy Peppers.

The intro (and tab for the steel intro) is on my web site.  The intro is I, IIIm, IV, V, I.

Pretty cool tune. It's probably just my cheap speakers but it sounded really bright to me.

    I liked the song.

    I like the mix.

The vocals seemed a bit "muted", could be a bit brighter, but that is just my opinion.

Small nit, the ending did not need the crash.

Thanks for the compliment on my vocals BIABDude, never had that before as I'm a guitar player and certainly no singer! Will concentrate on the bass sound on my next song.
Bapu, you are right, that crash at the end needs to go.
Thanks to the rest of you for listening, much appreciated.

That's a good one. It is a fairly light on the low end mix, or perhaps a lot of it just below what's reproducable on these smaller speakers I'm listening. But it's not overly bright either, to me at least at moderate listening levels. Maybe more so during the guitar break.

The song flows and bops along nicely with plenty of energy. The transition to the middle section is a little abrupt maybe, and it suddenly also becomes much fuller tonally, which makes it seem a little out of place, the acoustic guitar part there I mean. I assume you wanted it not to sound too sparse when it went to the single guitar and voice? But it sounds a bit out of place.

Sounds great, man! The mix is really clean, but I agree with the other users here - could've used a bit more low end. I probably would've put a little bit of reverb on the vox. But then again, I'm kinda new at this also, so don't take anything too close to heart. Haha

    Hi Paul,

I really like this song. Mix sounds good from here. Very nice but the ending is a little abrupt.

Thanks guys. I'm getting the same response from many other people as well regarding the abrupt ending. I knew I should have done one more turnaround.

Thank you all who have taken the trouble to listen. It's very much appreciated.

Very interesting music!  It almost has a 60's British Rock with a touch of country as well.  I really like the bridge on this.  The transition to and from it was very well done.

I have to agree with others that talked about the muddy vocal.

    I really enjoy this!

    Thanks for sharing,
    Tom

Song was a lot of fun.  I like the bright guitars.  To contrast those bright guitars i'd boost and articulate the bass a tad and bring up some lower mid range (snare, lower end of guitar).

Enjoyable song.  I think others have covered my comments already as far as the mix goes, but I'll just add that I agree on the low end boost and the sudden end.

Thanks Janet. Knocked out by the 'well sung' comment as I've never sung on a song before and am just a guitar player.

All comments have been really complimentary and I'm very thankful for that. Cheers guys.

Nothing more to add except that I really like it. The guitar and drums sound amazing - how did you get the guitar sound? Real amp or software? Also, same question re the drums. Love the stereo separation on headphones, and yes, you can sing!

    Keep it goin'

I really liked this one ...Few minor crits...These are JMPO...The Lead acoustic parts are too loud and panned too far to one side and a little on the Bright side...When the Electric Lead comes in that`s where I feel the Acoustic lead should sit too maybe just slightly to the opposite side of where you have the Electric Lead. Also This needs a build up Intro it feels like you started at 100mph and went with it. Maybe something just acoustic and building till you get there would be really cool. Lastly no more than 2seconds silence on the beginning you have 4 and it probably seems nit picky but if your entering contests these things are taken into account since tunes are supposed to be Redbook ready. After readfing all that just remember I really did like this tune.

Whoa.... to you ...oh...earth and sea...
for the devil sends the beast with wrath.....
because he knows the time is short.....
    let him who hath understanding.....
reckon the number of the beast.....
for it is a human number...
    it`s number is.....
    666

So if JESUS rose from the DEAD
Does that mean he`s the ORIGINAL ZOMBIE?

First off - the song is excellent - really like it. Mix wise - only listening on lappy so not the best reference - but the very best mixes on this forum do still sound right on here, so as far as I can tell, the whole mix could do with a boost in the low/mid range and the acoustic guitar could maybe do with being backed of a little. As you're new I'll add my usual disclaimer that I'm no kind of expert and any opinions I express are just those of a listener. I'm still trying to figure all this stuff out myself lol !

Anyway, welcome aboard and look forward to hearing some more from you.

The song sounds great except for the low end. The bass needs to come up quite a bit.
