Alternatives to DROPZONE?

Hey all,

Still hunting for a decent and simple sampler.  I like the way you can drop samples directly on to the GUI but thats about all I like about it.  Anyway can any recommend a good vst sampler (Not kontakt) that will also allow me to browse my HDD and "audition" samples (by highlighting them in browser window) without having to import them.

Kontak does not seem to be able to do this.  You can audition but not on your midi keyboard.  This is a feature I enjoyed with Vsampler and strangley I can seem to find a nice alternative.

What else can I try out there?

kontakt will import / convert due to things like rx2 edting not being supported outside of recycle. for example   tricky really, what exactly you want. you might be needing a lot more fuctionality then just simply drag/drop
    have you tried http://tx16wx.blogspot.co.uk/

    for a start..

kontakt is pretty much "default" standard like the akai was back in the 90's.

yellow tools do a sampler. and of course the emu one.

One Small Cue's Poise is a very simple MPC style sampler. Drag and drop and audition within its gui. Maschine covers all the bases, as far as being able to sample into it, sequence, and chop, synths, etc.

Vsampler, Short Circuit are the only samplers I've found that can audition samples fully mapped to full keyboard before importing.

Tried TX16 but Sonar won't pick it up in VST folder.  I think you had to copy to the DLL to there but will check it again.

Any more suggestions keep em coming.  Thanks so far guys ;>
