Am I a Fuddy Duddy?
My trip to south Louisiana was very much fun. My Niece got married to a fine young Gentleman. I got to take everyone out to eat seafood! The Wedding brought a tear to my eye. I held held her in my lap when she was a toddler. I kept thinking" My gettin to be a really old Mo'Fo'!". The band at the reception was great! At about 9:30 I started getting tired. 9:30 mind you! So tired Boney and myself went back to my cabin and I watched the 2nd half of the LSU game. The next morning I found out everyone got blitzed by jello shots. Over 600 were passed around. My daughter got into a fist fight for stealing a golf cart. Cops were called, guys and girls got caught doing things, etc. Am I getting old? I had no desire to party. That's what's got me wondering. Am I a Fuddy Duddy?

That is LSU Stadium in Baton Rouge! I had to stop and take a picture! I'm sorry about the traffic jam I caused.

I've been at "those" kinds of parties... I think I would have preferred watching the second half of the LSU game to it. Fuddy is as Fuddy does!

I'm only 35 and I am a bit of a fuddy duddy these day's, it gets boring after a while all that wild excess, and being out of control and I should know. My life once upon a time makes the description of the party you left seem tame in comparison, I snorted it, gulped it, ****ed it and got arrested and somtimes all on the same night. I've been to sex parties, drug parties and the party to end all parties but at some point I just went well that was fun and moved on, actually there is more to life than excess, although Blake did say, I think, the palace of wisdom can only be found through excess. I'd like to put a discalimer here: It's all a bunch of ****, you can live a wild life and still get an education, as my signature suggests, and this is why I pushed the boundry's I wanted to proove that you could function in socity and push the limit, although you posibly won't like the world once you have walked through the door. It is true that your perspective on the world changes and it is hard nigh impossible to go back but this just could be my experience. Peace Ben

No Bill, you're not a fuddy, duddy. It's a scientific fact that the space we refer to as "outside the box" has grown exponentially in the last ten years. Our children are merely attempting to fill this new space. We can't go there, our medication is not rated for it and no good could come of it.

I used to party till I passed out - systematically. Usually at least once a week since I was 12. And I needed a lot to get that point. Last time we had a party was when my fiancée got back from Florida, last winter. For the first time in my life, I gave up on drinking before the end of the party - I ended up drinking water. Frickin' water!!!! We had one evening planned with friends after that before we left for NY and we looked at each other and went - OMG, it's happened! We're boring! Both of us used to be professional drinkers and party animals. We've been in NY for 6 months, and I can count on the fingers of one hand the drinks we both had - mainly like, a glass of champagne for premieres and stuff. I've never been this sober in my entire adult life. And you know what? I'm glad that I don't miss it or even think about it, glad that I've finally outgrown that. Not that I wanted to, nor that I felt the need to stop or felt guilt or whatever. I'm perfectly at peace with all of that. No regret, it was all fun. But life just followed its course. It's not like heartbreaking goodbyes to my youth and the partying. It just happened. I embrace my quiet and productive upcoming 40's. I'm just ready for that and the family. I guess this makes me a boring old fart.

I can not remember the last time I was wasted from any source. It has been a very, very long time, with no plans to return to that lifestyle of yesteryear. Like water under the bridge, it's gone. I do not miss it one bit. I wake up now and my head isn't throbbing from the previous night's excess, and knocks at the door are friends, not police with warrents. I highly recommend this lifestyle to everyone.

I think you should be glad you went to your cabin but perhaps you should visit the doctor if this is something new. I used to stay up till a the beer was gone... these days when wifey says it is time for bed, I go too... I read a bit and (usually) go on off to sleep. I never used drugs when I was young, I abused them. These days I use them, laff. I would NEVER want to be young again. It would be nice to feel young now and then but be young... no thank you. Julien

No Bill. It's called common sense to know that when partying that hard you're going to feel it the next morning. But you'd rather not feel that way cause life is so much more fun with clarity of mind. But I think I would have sat around watching the show rather than the game. It would have been much funnier.... Just sayin'

BB, I'll be your Fuddy Duddy Buddy. I'm not entirely sure what that means. I don't think it's like a Mooch-Bapu thing, though. [slides a platter over] More becan?

I must be the odd one out on this. When my friends started to party somewhere around Junior High. I had no interest in it. After I heard all of the stories it never interested me. Some of that may have been that a lot of my immediate family were messed up on drinking/drugs and I seen early on the effect it all had on them. I even found a very large stash of pot one time in the woods and never smoked any of it. I do drink very occasionally. I bought a case of various wine coolers over the weekend. I knew my wife didn't like the lime flavor so I decided to drink a few of those. The alchohol didn't really bother me but something in the flavoring made me pukeing sick. I guess different people have a different view of what a "party" is. I can have a great time without the excess. Friends and good food or a night out with friends is a fun time for me.

Now it's more fun to drink water while everyone else is getting wasted. Then you can take videos of them and post 'em on YouMoob.
