Am I missing any worthwhile content from Sonar 7 & 8.5 Producer versions
Okay so I hardly ever used 7 and 8.5 and really was only using X1 for mastering my Reason projects with Ozone 4.............I know......my bad! But I'm broadening my horizons with X3 and loving it so far. My new PC is only a few months old and only had X1 Producer Expanded installed and now obviously has X3 Producer installed too. I was just gonna leave X1 installed as I don't think it takes up too much space, which got me wondering if, as my thread title suggests, would it be worthwhile installing 7 and 8.5 to get the benefit of any features not currently included. Any thoughts? Cheers Mark

I have 8.5 till X3. Lexicon Pantheon and Reverb Guitar Rig 3LE from 8.5 are worthy to keep. From a earlier forum thread I knew that Pantheon is still liked by some X series users.

Have you learned how to use all the plugins with X3 yet? (and X1). I would say that is a better use of your time. From there you decide what you are missing, rather than collect plugins for the sake of collecting. Try to stick with 64 bit plugins (assuming you are going 64 bit). Cheers... Alex

You'd have to check the list of plugins in each of those version. The only one I know for sure is that if you want to use VVocal it's not included in x3 so you'll need to keep it from your X1 installation.
There are no features to carry over only plugins. The extra content is the same and the version of Dimension pro is now 1.5 so if you want to use it check your current version and update if necessary.
Go to the Cakewalk site and under support look for info regarding anything special required for a Dim Pro update.

I think CakeAlex hit the nail on the head. If you were already used to those plugins, they may be worthwhile but there are too many alternatives both free and included with later versions of Sonar to bother with learning a new, yet old plugin. Pantheon is a decent version when used lightly, but I doubt it gives you anything significantly better than Bereverb, sonitus, blue reverb and perfect space.

That is sage advice dude, thanks and I think I'll take it :). And the yeah I've been using 64bit since Windows 7 was released. mudgel You'd have to check the list of plugins in each of those version. Yeah I'll dig out the boxes when I get home from work and see what in 'em. I've had Dim Pro and Rapture since Version 7 as I bought the Pro Suite which also included Project 5. Cheers guys!

Yup, I think I've got enough on my plate right now :)
