American Idol

Haley bit it running around but took it like a Pro and kept rockin.  Her dad also played guitar with her on the song.

Nice

    Prophetic or not?
I saw on the local news that a black bear ambled through Scotty's high school campus Wednesday (Garner Magnet HS).
The market is bearish on Scotty's chances?

Haley's my favorite and loved when she "got the Led out". Hated the judges' song pick for her though (Alanis' "You Outta Know") and also the "Rhianna"is not a good song to condense down into a 2:30 performance. I would have gone with a Josh Stone or Fiona Apple song.

From the moment I saw Haley I told my Lovely Lady she was going to win.

Regardless of the outcome, in my mind she's already won. Scotty and Lauren just keep phoning in the same performance song after song, IMHO. Haley is no Adam Lambert (in terms of shaking up a song's arrangement) but at least she shows range over the other two.

Either way.... no matter who takes the title next week, all 3 have the potential for promising careers singing songs for a living.

I was really impressed with Haleys professionalism tonight in the end.  Very mature.  They will all go far.

I know she's not all that highly regarded around here, but I kinda like Lauren.  Sure, Haley's got a fantastic rasp she can turn on and off like a light switch.  Haley does have more expertise and a greater emotional and stylistic range.  Haley's also a more experienced performer.  For a 16 year old, however, Lauren has a great voice.  I didn't expect to like Lauren.  Her style is not something I'm into.  I thought she was going to be another whiney, spoiled brat like so many other young artists thrust into the limelight before their time.  She won me over slowly, against my will.

I liked James, Haley, and Casey from the very beginning.  They each had their strong and weak points as singers and artists (who doesn't?).  I think Haley's sultry performances and her Alanis cover probably hurt her chances by making her appear sleazy compared to Scotty and Lauren (my opinion, feel free to disregard).  Since they're all out now, I'm hoping Lauren beats Scotty.  (Sorry, Scotty, but I'm tired.)

I've been tired of Scotty for 5 weeks now. He's in what I call the "Jackson Browne" groove. Heard one, heard 'em all.
