Ample Sound Guitars and Sonar?

Hi All,
I heard about Ample Sound's virtual guitars, but the only sequencer mentioned is ProTools. Are they usable with Sonar, too? Or is this a dumb question?

Not sure what you're looking at, but under the "Overview" section of the AGT guitar, it says this:

"Supports AU, VST, RTAS, AAX, AAX for Protools11, Mac and Win, 32bit and 64bit".

So, basically most of the formats out there.  In short, yes, it works in Sonar.

SonarPlat/CWbBL, Win 10 Pro, i7 2600K, Asus P8Z68 Deluxe, 16GB DDR3, Radeon HD5450, TC Electronic Impact Twin, Kawai MP11 Piano, Event ALP Monitors, Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro, Too Many Plugins, My lucky hat.

And the free version takes two hours to download via Rapidshare - must be a joint venture partner to help pay for the free version - advertising kickbacks from Rapidshare?

Any way I will try it - but I don't think I will buy it at over $190 per guitar, or $700+ for the full package

Thanks for all the responses and info, Jon, Gary, Larry and Joden.

I downloaded and tried the demo version and the free version of the Martin, but as standalones, the latency is pure 100% crap with my USB Casio keyboard. I was so disgusted I uninstalled them, so I didn't even try them with Sonar in the end. (sigh)
EDIT: I just realized how ungrateful this post sounds. Pardon my faux pas. I truly am grateful for the responses, just frustrated.

The Ample Sound Guitars and Bass uses note off velocity for the release samples, but Sonar doesn't support note off release velocity or there is no way to edit it, without the release samples it sounds fake and midi-guitar'ish. It sounds so much more realistic when you hear the release samples after each notes.

If you have the interface open of the guitar/bass and click on the frets on the picture of the guitar/bass you can hear the release samples.

forgive me for asking but, isn't it the Keyboard controller that supports Note off velocity ?
I used the Ample sound AGG (Virtual Gibson Les Paul R8 electric guitar) in Sonar X3 and sounded awesome.
Not really my bag of tea to be honest because I have over 20 electric guitars in my studio.
FYI- if you go to amplesounds web site, they have a direct link to Cakewalk on the bottom of the page.

Some keyboards do have support for note off velocity, but I think only the more expensive ones, but my Axiom keyboard does not support note off velocity, so that's why it would be great if we could edit that later in Sonar, but there is no way in Sonar to edit note off velocity like in some other DAWs. In Sonar the note off velocity will always be 0, so the release samples won't be triggered in the Ample Sound Guitars/Bass VSTs

I hope Cakewalk includes the possibility to edit note off velocity in future Sonar versions.

Just want to make sure that you are familiar with latency and setting up your sound card for playing an instrument like this...
I have a project set up in SPLAT and have the AmpleGuitar FII and have very little latency, even using 512 sample buffer size.  The company usually offers deals on occasion, cause I remember getting this plug from them at like 50 or 60% off.  The sound is good if you tweak some of the parameters.  I haven't used this in a while but IIRC I had some difficulty setting up the midi for a song... I think it was just more difficult to work with in midi compared to some other guitar instruments that I have, maybe just because it offers more parameters?  Strum Session 2 is a good guitar instrument IMO for midi, and I also like Kontakt/Strummed acoustic.
When I say midi, I don't mean playing live midi but setting up midi and laying out songs using the piano roll.

To eliminate the latency, you have to increase the "start" control to abour 35 ms. You can move it to 50 ms to completely eliminate the latency but then the guitar starts sounding more pianoish. Ample's explanation iirc is that a guitar string takes some time to get up go from 0Hz to whatever freq the plucked note is at. The "start" control provides for that realism. But when played on a keyboard you get latency as a result. Moving it ahead to 35 gives enough realism without noticable latency. When playing back recorded music yoh should dial "Start" back to 0 for maximum realism. Not sure I totally get how this works. Maybe real guitarists compensate for this subconciously??

I'll second FilterSweeps comments. Ample sounds quite good - and it wasn't until I messed with the start that I realized it has real potential and acts quite well with Sonar Pro. I need to look into the release sample ends of things. I sold my Kurzweil Midiboard a few years back and it was really great at generating and manipulating release velocities.
