Ample Sound releases Guitar Riffer (v2.5 update) - Guitars 20% Off

Ample Sound has released free updates of version 2.5 for all nine of its virtual guitars.
The updates include a new module, Riffer, a riff generator featuring MIDI edit of stringed instruments, multiple formats conversion, automatic riff creation, etc. The initial update includes 500 classic riffs. The Guitar Riffer has improved vastly based on Bass Riffer, adding Strum and Multi-Measures features.

    When I update, Ample Host stops working.
    If I revert to 2.4.1 it works again....interesting

    I downloaded whole 2.5 installer( not update) and did not have problems with it, except it asked me again to register.

    I only have AGT II and AGP II, which there doesn't seem to be a 
    2.5 FULL download...just the updates

    When you login to Myamplesound did you got to My information -> My products -> Send Full Installer download links to my mailbox ?

    Installing the full version has the same results.  64 bit standalone
    won't run....

    So, if I revert back to 2.4.1 on just ONE instrument then it works,
    and the other has the riffer.  But I can't do both...weird...

    That's all I install.  I don't use 32 bit anymore unless absolutely necessary.

    I think it has to do with Ample Host...are you running Win 10?

    I had no problems at all.  I'm using Window 10 64bit and the install went fast and flawless for both the Martin D-41 and the 50's Strat.
     
    I am much more impressed with the random generator for the guitar than the random generator they recently released for bass.   Perhaps I am expecting a bass line to be more controlled and more important to a progression so it can't really be randomized. But the guitar generator is great as is the selection of riffs they provide.
     
    This is certainly a great free upgrade - it really enhances the product!

    Here's what I had to do...

    I reinstalled AMT 2.4.1 and then it would work, so 
    I renamed AMhost to AMhost old.exe.  I then reinstalled
    AMT 2.5.0, then renamed AMhost to AMhost NEW.exe.
    Then renamed AMhost OLD.exe to AMhost, and NOW
    everything works...

    Something in the new AMhost won't let it run on my PC.
    The AMhost that is in 2.4.1 works perfectly, even with the udpated
    instruments

    Have been emailing back and forth with AmpleSound...

    In the emails they said it may be due to SmartScreen.  So I disabled 
    SmartScreen, and same result.  Just out of curiousity, I decided to put the
    name of the EXE file back to AMhost New.exe, and ran it with that name...
    IT WORKED.  So still not quite sure what the issue is here...

    Ok...so, silly me...didn't even bother checking my AV logs...

    Bitdefender had identified it as "Potentially Malicious" and been
    blocking it from running...which explains everything!!!
