AmpliTude X-Gear
Sorry to be back on this issue again. I've managed to resolved the other two problems, but I just can seem to find where AmpliTude is installed on my computer so I can either move it or add it to be scanned. It is definitely on my computer. When I hit "Start" AmpliTude is there and I can execute it. It is registered as it no longer asked me to register it. But I don't have it in MC 5 or Sonar yet. When I right click for properties, I get this path: c:/programdate/microsoft/windows/startmenu/programs/ikmedia/amplitude x gear However, there are only 3 pdf manuals in that directory. The target reads: media/AmpliTude X-Gear/AmpliTude X-Gear.exe I have no idea where to find this? Thanks. Annette

I did a search of all my .dll files and I can't find anything that looks like it belongs to Amplitude.

Man, I'm either really dumb when it comes to this stuff or just missing something really obvious. I changed the directory...still not picking it up. I created a new "normal" project. The message comes up that it's not installed. I go to the "guitar" track. Double click on "amplitude", but I get the same message. The message takes me to CW site which simply says a plug in is not installed. Am I missing something? Thanks. Annette

you need to tell cake where to find it..... use the plug in manager to locate it and then scan it one time....then it should be there and available for you to use.

Ok, finally found it. I had to reset all my vst's in MC, then one by one take the folder list off and rescan until I found one that removed amplitube from my list. c:\program files\vstplugins notice, that is NOT the same folder as the cakewalk\vst plugins - it's a vst plugins folder under program files directly.

What is the name of the .dll file? Add that directory didn't work. I just have VSC.dll there. What's the software that let's someone else have access to your computer? Yep, getting really desperate here. Thanks for your patience. Annette

AmpliTubeXGEAR.dll is the dll file name. if it's not there, then it may not have gotten installed correctly. you might also want to do a search on your hard drive(s) for that dll file and find it that way. logmein is the name of the software I used to help janet, but I probably don't have time today to help with that, maybe tomorrow after church or monday evening if you don't get it working by then.

Yeah, I did a search of all .dll files yesterday of all drives and nothing showed up. Today is not good for me either. I'm taking my daughter and her friend to a waterpark motel overnight for her 16th birthday. I'll be back probably later tomorrow afternoon as we are stopping off at a spa! Times have changed...I got squat for my 16th. Thanks Beagle. Annette

I think everyone will be happy to hear that the re-install worked. I now have the amplitude .dll file. I have no idea why it didn't install the first time. When I installed this time, it suggested the MTS vstplugins, I changed it to cakewalk vst plugins and it was fine. I went back and checked the MTS vst plugin file and there was no .dll file. That is where the Cakewalk Sound Center installed the first time. So, all is well in Nutty's world (for now anyway)! Thanks to all those who helped. Annette

That's right Tap, especially when I'm involved. I had "friends" at work change my name plate at work from Annette to Annutt! Good to see you around. Haven't noticed you around much. Hope all is well. Thanks again Beagle, Guitarhacker for the help. Now to produce something with it (then I can let Albert fix it for me)! Still nice to learn it. Annette

Sorry to post on an old thread, but I just installed Amplitude 3 and had the same issue. (Found this thread on google.) These instructions solved it for me. The only difference is I looked in the folder below and the DLL file (AmpliTube 3.dll) was there, so I just added the folder without having to reset or delete anything and was good to go. Thanks. Beagle Ok, finally found it.
