Sorry for the dumb question, but do you guys get the "Do you want to allow changes from an unknown publisher" every time you open the stand alone?

Right click on the shortcut and select "Open File Location".  If that takes you to another shortcut
do the same.  Once you get to where the executable is right click and go to "Properties" and then
the the "Compatibility" tab and make sure to check "run as administrator" and that should
eleviate that problem

Running as admin should not be required.  Please contact support and they'll figure out what's up.

Let us pray to Allah that this will be sorted out. Giving IK a benefit of the doubt that this will be rectified, fixed to the just and moral end point that we all deserve.

My problem is with the bait under the nose approach. We have seen this cancer enveloping so many software business models. It is sad, it is pathetic, but everywhere now. IK is no different under evolving market stress than the next guy. They are just marching to the new drummer. Not just music software anymore. You get what you thought to be a complete package only to find a significant portion of the product disabled. It is no longer about your up front cash purchase. It is the "now I got you" fine print that depends on continued, calculated expense to get what you thought you had up front.

Have to reiterate, that IK spoke truth about everything in Amp 3 being migrated into A4, so I really got no soapbox to stand on in this regard. Giving this to them, and A4 is a decent  increment over A3, though no Wow factor is there, as many have testified. Guess my wish is that the grayed out crap that disables presets and settings you haven't opened the plastic card would disappear. I don't need no adds, no incentives, no marketing garbage. Don't need to spend another dime. Just make the extra incentive **** disappear so I don't have to wade through crap to find a functional preset that has not been disabled.

Opened ANOTHER ticket, and now the wait(24 hours if I'm not mistaken).. Maybe they could answer the phone instead...........

PS - I came into this with an open mind. I have no axe to grind, but I spent all of my career in customer service(technical) and it seems that it is now on the back burner. As in, we can't answer the phone, and I'm so busy I can't read your email til tomorrow. Hang tight, and when we're good and ready, we'll send help.

2nd PS(kinda like 2nd breakfast) - How about an online chat? I have pretty good luck with those.

That's what I thought.  And so it goes.

But thanks so much for fixing the speaker thingy:-)

Can someone explain what the "fix" is for the speaker?  I know that some speakers are grayed out, and I guess this is because I have not purchased those cabs, but what exactly is the fix?

I wonder if  charlyg's problem is Windows 10 related. I upgraded to 10 and everything was great for 24 hours. Then the firewall blocked my interface. I tried for a few minutes to figure it out...and then went back to Windows 7. I could be way off base here, but I'm not having any issues with Amplitube 4 (other than the speaker deal).

The fix will be in an update tomorrow (if testing goes well) from IK in your users account. Amplitube 4.01 I would guess.

I've been on Win 10 for a couple of months as least, it seems. Haven't had too much to gripe about. Everything is working as it should. And my issue isn't just this small problem with a work around(clicking yes), it's about the general feeling about how they treat paying customers with ANY kind of issue. The stock answer is put in a ticket and wait. No attempt at all to "nip it in the bud."

I understand that, and I don't have enough knowledge to say that is Win 10. I was just throwing out an idea. I do wish IK would be more helpful on their forum. It's always "contact support".
I'm not saying anything about Peter either. I believe he does what he can to help, much like Obi did before. Both seem to be good guys that do their best.
Anyway, I've been pleased with A4 after giving it several hours of play. It's a step up from A3. I paid $69 for the upgrade and I would do it again. I hope you get your problems resolved.

I had all 29 speakers available and selectable when I had Amp4 installed.

Also was running Windows 10 Pro 64bit without any issues.

I thought that the 'base' Amplitube 4 install package, if you didn't own any other products, as I said else where, was very thin in comparison to what you can get with other packages and for the price (Full $149 - Pre Order $99) I already owned everything Amplitube prior to AmpliTube 4 so the cupboard was full, but if I was a new user and only had what comes with the 'base' Amplitube 4, the cupboard would have looked bare indeed.

As to IK's support, again as I have said elsewhere, I had the same issue with some of the Orange collection with AmpliTube 3 reappear with AmpliTube 4. There had been discussions on the IK forums about the issue, which also seemed to effect different collection for different people, in these discussions it was said thast the issue had been fixed in AmpliTube 4, it obviously had not.  I sent a support ticket on the weekend, and got a response very quickly, offering a work around, and stating that the bug was known and it was being worked on. For the weekend I thought that was pretty good service, and to be honest I was not expecting any replies until the start of the week, So my first and only impression of IK support is only good.

I doubt it's a Win 10 issues as it would an across the board problem and people would've raised merry hell over it. A4 as well as all my other hardware/software has been working extremely well in Win 10 for me......much better than the earlier versions of Windows.

Thanks Clint for the 4.01 update....will do so tonight.

Got the update, now I have no stomps, if I click the insert button, it says I need version 4(it claims to be v4.01..... few,if any things changed and I see no additional anything that I didn't already have. Still have grayed out mics and speakers. And I don't recall a choice of anything, but I got Amplitube Metal when I upgraded to 4, something I would never choose. Of course, maybe in their convoluted thinking, I got a few extra amps?

Even if you are the admin it doesn't mean that you are running the program as "admin".  This is a separate
process, and I do it for ALL my music programs.  They are all set under "Compatibility" to run as "Admin" which allows them to access more of Windows underpinnings and is extremely beneficial...which many VST's require, as well
as DAW programs.

The IK forum is not meant for technical support.  It is the first information you are presented with in the forum rules: "This forum is not intended for direct company technical support. For support requests, please visit the IK Multimedia web site."

I am not in the support department and it is more efficient for them to use the ticketed system to assist you (they will use other methods if it becomes necessary but most of the time the system works efficiently).  It isn't a cop out to send people to support when necessary, it is to get you to the people who are there to help specifically.  I have used IK products for years, but since I'm not in support I would have less knowledge to help in certain cases so having me (or mods/admins there) providing technical support would likely add to the frustration.  For example, I'm rarely using windows or certain DAWs these days so I would be less than helpful in those cases.

In any case, I can help have someone take a closer look if you have are not satisfied with a ticket or tickets.  Just get me  your ticket numbers and IK user name via PM.   Thanks!

Though I will make a suggestion regardless of the above :)  Make sure you have authorized using the serial number for AmpliTube 4 (not AmpliTube 4 Custom Shop) and that you've opened the Custom Shop application and done a Gear --> Restore My Gear in the AmpliTube section.  This is in reference to gear still being greyed out.

They are responding fairly quickly now that it has a NUMBER. When I try to reply to their email and paste a pic of the error msg, it won't send anything but a blank. I had to save and then attach.....nothing is ever easy with these guys. And now he has stopped responding........ FAIL

There are two mics that are available in the Custom shop that did not come with anything. Can't remember the name's off hand, but one is a Tube mic and one is a Bottle mic. The bottle was the one I was missing until 5 minutes ago when I got it in the Custom shop.
