Amplitude 2 Problem

Hi there,

I've been trying to use Amplitude 2 on Sonar Home Studio 6 as a plugin but I can't get any signal from my guitar to read on its input. When used as standalone it works perfectly, but the minute I add it as an effect plugin to a track there is no input signal at all. All other Sonar included effects seem to work fine.

Any help would be seriously appreciated.

Jon

How are you installing it in Sonar? Are you inserting it as an effect? Good. The way I do it is to record a guitar track dry then insert AmpliTube in the FX bin. If you want to hear it as you record then you have to enable the Echo through feature but you're going to get latency that way which is why I put it in after.

I'm using it in SP6 and works great as both a plugin and standalone and if your computer and sound card are up to par then you should be able to use it real-time with no noticable latency.

I have been working with the demo today in Sonar 6 Producer as an audio effect. Sounds VERY nice, but takes about 25% CPU on my machine. This is why I am in the process of repairing my actual tube amp. I hope it sounds as good or better. Had to dismantle the cabinet today to finish getting the old baffle out - going to be awhile...

It works fine for me as a standalone or insert. However, one wierd thing I've noticed is that when standalone, if any other program comes up and takes the focsu away from it, it gets out of sync with sound card, as though it lets the sound card revert to some other sample rate. Just bringing up the sound card settings dialog, not even changing anything or saving anything, just bringing it up, will make it happy again. I can dismiss the dialog with not changes and Amp2 will be happy until it loses focus again.

If you aren't getting anything into Amp2, then are you sure you've selected the correct sound card input for the track? Try it first without Amp2 and see if are getting a signal after selecting the right input and adjust your pre-amp levels. If so, then insert Amp2 and it should see that input.

you have to enable the Echo through feature

+1 to that suggestion. Is most likely the cause.
