I take issue with her talent being a waste.......Her offerings went international and were very well received. She accomplished what 99 % of us wish we could, at 27 no less Why not celebrate her contribution. Condolence to her family and those who actually knew her well enough to deserve to comment on her personal life.

at 27 and your best still ahead of you is unexpected..i for one am shocked. i liked her alot. even with all her problems, i thought she was a dynamo and thought she would somehow get herself together..im sad man... cause i was rooting for that little girl.

I liked her "early" material. Yes, I know at her age most everything would be considered early. She reminded me a just little bit of Shirley Bassey with the bluesey influence and the way the horns were recorded that seemed like a tribute to the way horns were recorded in the UK during the 60's.

sad, RIP ..living in drug ridden "place" such as Camden is probably the worst places in London for someone who had such issues regardless. as for the stuff recorded.. a lot of it was recorded using vintage gear / mic's etc.

It always saddens me when an artist hits it big in the commercial market and winds up dead from dope soon afterward. I'd have to say the pressures in her life were the culprit and where there's pressure there's people. The dark side has claimed another soul.

The part that seems so sad is the idea that maybe there was a lifestyle and experience that she could have thrived in.
To my mind, one should be true to their selves and find what makes them happy... she never seemed happy performing for fans who enjoyed her music.
As has been suggested... The source of her disharmony in life it will remain a mystery to all but her closest friends.
I just think it's shame that she didn't learn how to be a survivor and find the happiness she deserved.
