An easy way to play Standard MIDI Files PLEASE ?

there got to be something wrong with the way this system looks for answers: My Subject returned 5 entries "Want to enjoy the latest movies in HD...".

I'm new to Sonar X1, so I'm looking for a simple way to play standard MIDI files in X1. I have a file for "A Whiter Shade of Pale" with 6 tracks. They are Fretless, Organ, Melody, Piano, Warm Pad and Drums . The file plays perfectly in VLC but it takes me hours and more hours to get it to play in X1.

PLEASE tell me a simple way to get a first listen in X1 with TTS-1.

Thanks!

This is the wrong forum for X1 but I imagine some things are still the same,, You cannot import a MIDI file ,

you need to OPEN it or all the data that sets instruments and tempo will be lost./

    Open the MIDI file
    Insert - Softsynth - Cakewalk TTS-1
Press CTRL-A to select all tracks
Hold down CTRL and select the TTS-1 as the output on one of the MIDI tracks. (All of the selected MIDI tracks will then have the TTS-1 as the output.)
Click on Play and you should hear the music.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Still, the Ctrl-A doesn't work. I had to change all the track outputs manually. But at least I got it to work!

That's why you might want to ask that question in the right forum as things will change. There will be a way to globally apply TTs-1 to all tracks once imported.
I take it it your in no hurry anyway's :) ( 2 months between replies)
