An happy customer need help :-))

Hello to all,

A premise: i use the computer to make music from the distant past of Atari ST and I can say that the V-Studio 20 is one of the best combinations of software and hardware I have ever owned and used ... I am very satisfied, Cakewalk and Roland have done a superb job in creating this product ...;-) With my netbook, the V-Studio 20 interface and my guitar, I can accompany the choir which I belong (with backing tracks), leading an "orchestra" with me and playing behind whenever I ask, and without question, with the help of small Fender Mustang Mini amp, I setup a portable dream!

That said, as stated by another user a few posts below, it would be nice Cakewalk not to abandon us users of  V-Studio 20 and let us present some update that expands the features of Guitar Tracks 4 (midi editing...), which, however, I love for its extreme simplicity (... it reminds me good old Home Studio 9, one of the software I used most in my life ...!).

Now i come with the question I would like to ask you: can i create a project with variations in time? Unlike X1 Studio (which I use to create backing tracks), I find no trace of time changes, what I would like to achieve is to load all the songs (splitting tracks for drums, bass, piano etc.) within one project and have the metronome, for example, that changes the bpm between the songs...

I tried to search on the online help and within the printed manual bundled but without success, maybe i cannot do this, but still, any advice is very welcome...

Thanks in advice for your patience :-))

    hi,

im a little confused on the question,
do you mean in guitar tracks or in sonar x1 studio?

this can be done in sonar x1/x2 versions by placing the now time marker at the point you would like to place the tempo change.
then by selecting project/insert tempo change.

this will open up the tempo change window where there you will be given options on tempo change,BPM,beat, exact placement for change.

you may then edit your project further in the tempo view.(by selecting View/Tempo)
this lists all the tempo changes in your project and more editing can be done from inside the tempo view.
you can also dock this window in the multidock.

    I hope this helped,
feel free to ask if you need more asst.

Hi chuckebaby, Please excuse me for the huge delay in response, the time to devote to music, unfortunately, is all too little (family, work...). I have carefully followed your advice but I found that, too bad, Guitar Tracks 4 can not do what I ask, I installed on my netbook a copy of Sonar LE 8.5 (bundled with my Boss ME-25), it works without problems (... just do not go overboard with the demands :-) and I can use it to create tempo changes within the same project, although personally I prefer GT 4 for its extreme simplicity and the fact that I can drive it easily with V-Studio 20 using it at the same time as effects processor the guitar is fantastic ! I can use V-Studio 20 with Sonar LE 8.5 but ... It is not the same thing: GT4 is wonderfully simple and efficient to use with my netbook, a truly portable setup full of quality. I hope with all my heart, that both Roland and Cakewalk continue to create this kind of simple, immediate products... With all due respect, I can not fall in love with the new Sonar generations (X1 and X2), too heavy for the cpu, too complex, with too many unnecessary features for my needs ... It 's just my opinion, as I wrote in the title, I am a satisfied customer of Cakewalk, only regret the dear old days of Home Studio 9 and similiar... Thanks anyway and good music :-)
