Angels Have To Fly - new song-REMIX
Here is my latest song which is based on a true story. It is about a woman (a dear friend of mine) who escapes an abusive relationship. I hope it's not too dark for the season, but in the end it is a song of rejoicing. I hope you enjoy it, and it can be found here: "Angels Have To Fly" at www.soundclick.com/lynnwilson. Thanks to all who reply. Happy holidays. p.s.- scroll down to the song list which is just below the video for RIVERS OF THE SKY ( which I encourage you to watch ). 12/28- I just post a remix for ANGELS HAVE TO FLY on my soundclick site. I took several suggestions from my fellow forum memebers such as lowering the volume of the vocals, spreading the drums out, and boosting the volumes of some of the instruments. I hope you enjoy it, and I look forward to hearing your comments. Thanks for taking the time.

I like the song Lynn. Your vocals remind me of old Van Halen,..

this is a cool hypnotic song, lynn..... but the mix is all off. and the vocals are too hot on top of everything. try a remix, give the drum track some girth, spread everything out, so nothing's in the middle but snare, bass and vox..... that should give the vocals the upfront effect you want, without stepping on the backing tracks so hard. cool sounds on everything

I watched rivers of the sky again, that song is so sad. I listened to the new one. This one actually reminds me of Big Bad Bob! (Bob Oister). So your friend is available now? :-)

Cool tune and great vocals. Bats' got some good points there. (you could link the actual song so people can find it easily...I almost clicked on Rivers of the Sky too. I may go listen to that one now anyway though.) :)

Great stuff! I like the stuff on you SC page. This song is really cool and has a mysterious vibe to it. I think I like more bleed from the left and right channels rather than hard panned but that's subjective really. It is mixed very well. Very well done!

Hi Lynn. Good advice from Batty above. There were some really cool things going on hear. I love the way the two guitars are pulling on each other. Very nice. Some subtle keys in there as well. Also the bass riffs taking the tune out is a nice touch. Wishing you a Merry Christmas too.

Thank you for your input. I will try a remix when things settle down here a bit. I'll take your advice and spread the drums out and see about lowering the volume of the vocals. Give me a few days, and I'll repost. Thanks for sharing that Lynn. My only crit is the drums don't seem to be part of the song (I mean sonically).

Yep this is a good song and you sing it well. Especially liked your guitars in this as you get some interesting tones, using your effects well. I can see the comparisons with Bob's tracks, but this has a softer sound imho. Some good points have been made about the mix, but i can't say it spoilt my enjoyment of the track. Nice work Lynn.

Good production Lynn.... at first I thought the vocals might still be a little loud, but after listening again I think it's a good mix... I did watch & listen to the video and was very moved... excellent work...

Hard thing to sing about. You did a fine job with it. Guitars sound like old psychodelic Cream-ish. Very cool.

Thank you, Larry. I, too, was pleased with this setting for bass. I simply ran it through my Focusrite platinum voicemaster, added a little presence, and recorded it. It's a Fender Prophesy bass that my girlfriend owns. I used it because its strings are about 20 years newer than my P-bass.
