Upgrade is $649...

Crossgrade is $749...

Yes for $399! and that is way cheaper that buying Action strings and the reverbs and whatever else I don't have in Komplete 8 Ultimate. 
Might wait till Komplete 10...

Looks like Kontakt is still Kontakt 5 and Guitar Rig is still 5. I am surprised at a battery update, I would not have been surprised to see Battery discontinued given the effort thats gone into Kontakt drums. Reaktor 5.8? what was the version in Komplete 8?

Looking at the Komplete 9 list I can't see much to make it worth the 150 Euros upgrade price for me. I have never used Battery and I doubt if the update is going to tempt me to start.Looks like the only new stuff is Monark looks like another MiniMoog emulation and some compressors and EQ and I have them coming out the yingyang.

I reckon I wait until they drop the price prior to releasing K10. I do own K8 + session horns already and the rest doesn't seem to justify another 399€ for the time being ...

For me (owner of Komplete 8 Ultimate + addons of Giant, Action Strings, Session Horns) It looks to me that Battery 4 (never used 3 yet) and The Rick Bass are about all I'd really be even partially interested in. FXs are nice but I think my list is already pretty komplete (pun in 10 did). Not sure I need/want Monark. 

Gonna have to pass and maybe sit out more products this coming year and wait until Komplete 10 (I wonder if it will go to 11?)

€149 for my update - the old bog standard Komplete or inKomplete to be more accurate. Think I may as well. Time to update the OS too. I feel a lot of busking and selling of vital organs is on the cards.

$399 upgrade for Ultimate owners? No thanks. That's ridiculous. Sure, these things cost a lot more individually, but that's not the point - you gauge the upgrade price in relation to the Komplete pricing. And as a proportion of the whole package, I don't think there's enough extra to justify that price. I'd pay maybe $250 tops. So I think I'll be waiting for the blowout sale...

Too rich for my blood!  They are loosing business with this price point.  I had been waiting for K9 and hoped that there would be some new instruments.  I can live without Battery4 as I never use Battery3.  Like others have said, $649 for me to upgrade from K7 to K9ultimate is not going to work for me.  Previously it was only $499 for the upgrade.

I will wait for a sale.  And if that sale happens to be for Kontakt 5 first, then I will buyKontakt5 and just forget about K9.

What were they thinking?  They skipped a year, kept us waiting, and for what?  No real new additions?

Hmmm... pretty much the only thing that really sparks my interest here is the announcement of Battery 4. I love Battery 3 and can't wait to get the upgrade. As for the rest of it - I have most of what I'm interested in. But I have to say. Komplete 9 Ultimate is a pretty sweet package!!!! If I had the dough, I'd might have jumped on that one just to get the sample libraries.

Look at the Battery 4 product page.  new kits (70 kits?) added, new effects and a new interface.

Apparently it's all about electronic and not acoustic drums.  Epic fail for me.

Battery is about way more than electronic drums. It's about whatever drums you want. You can drag samples from anywhere into the cells and make a kit. As an all purpose drum machine it's great. You could make thousands of kits from the free samples you have installed from Cakewalk. And there are many acoustic kits that come with Battery - you can also mix and match all of the samples in all of the kits to make new kits. 


The only thing lacking in Battery IMO is some kind of sequencer. I'm kind of interested in something like Geist for that.
