Annoying Pop... How do I get rid of it?? ><

Hi, all.

So I have two Step Sequencer drum patterns and I'm getting an annoying pop at the break between the two.

There is a tempo change between the two.

I've tried removing the 2nd pattern, the pop still occurs where it would begin, even when it's not there.

If I cut back the drums about an 8th from the end of the first pattern, the pop doesn't occur... But I need those drums.

I've tried recreating the beat from a new Step Sequencer instance. The pop persists.

Any advice?? Thanks.

Just guessing... If the pop happens where the tempo changes, try removing the tempo change. If that's the fix, then there may be a tempo-based delay or similar effect in the drums or on the drum bus that pops when the tempo changes.

bounce/render the "STEP-clip" to a normal MIDI Clip.

Annoying Pop? Try new Parent Shusher - only 1.99!

    Or

Annoying POP? Dial in to Jazz Central and never listen to bubble gum music again!

Ok, so removing the tempo change seemed to get rid of the pop. However, I obviously need the tempo change. And I tried bypassing all effects bins in the relevant instrument tracks (which only contain instances of PX-64 and Sonitus EQ), and that seemed to take care of the issue as well, until I started un-bypassing a number of the bins. But again, I need those effects. So, if the problem truly is what you are referring to (which it seems to be), how do I... remedy it?

Hmm, that didn't seem to do anything for me in this instance =\

The PX effect is configured as a "tempo-based" effect. I don't know whether it needs to be. First, you could verify whether this is the effect that is causing the problem by trying the tempo change without any PX. Then, you could try disabling "tempo-based" in every instance of PX. To do that, click the [VST|v] control in each PX control panel, choose "plug-in properties" and deselect "configure as tempo-based effect". That might make the pop go away, and hopefully leaves the desired effect in place. Good luck.

Well that seems to have done the trick! Didn't seem to at first, but after closing and re-opening the project, pop gone Thanks, Bill!

Good to hear! Interesting about the need to close/reopen.

If you bounce the Step SEQ-track it will make it to a MIDI clip...
