Another Geronimo Cowboy tune.
This was the first tune we did together - I think this was the second tune I ever wrote. Mike Vlahakis - my partner in Geronimo Cowboys sang - played bass guitar - did the tambourine - and all of the sound effects and did the mix on this one. I wrote this and played guitar and programmed the drums. This tune is about one of my favorite vacation spots in the world. My wife and I have spent a lot of time in CABO. I hope you enjoy. And BTW - we have our first new GC tune in the can - it should be out in a couple of weeks. Thanks for taking a listen.

Interesting, I like it. The vox has a quality (without the low fi effect ) They feel a little muffled? I'm not sure if it's a HPF issue? Or if they need some bumps in a few spots and a nice shelving high? I get the same thing on what I think is the kick? But you can get away with it a little more there. My DAW is hit or miss when I try to listen in the good cans, so this is on the buds (bear that in mind pls.) I couldn't put my finger on it, but I think this gives me "a Zappa vibe :-)" The bass guitar needs moe deff too, but again, "I'm on buds." No not those? The kind you stick in your ear.
Sittin downtown in a railway station one toke over the line.

Thanks dude. This was recorded and mixed over ten years ago - we've all gotten better at mixing since then. Thanks again for taking a listen.

So... cool tune, the mix, done 10 years ago has some issues.... so, if you have the tracks, remix it with what you have learned in the past 10 years. I do that every so often when I have nothing better to do. Just to see if I can improve a mix. Slightly saner than a Zappa tune.

This is one of the more interesting works I've heard recently. The Zappa vibe describes this fairly well. It's almost atonal, but not quite, which gives it a somewhat sophisticated sound to one that has been steepen in Zappa. I like this tune, and I applaud your creativity and skill.

I really enjoyed the tune and for being an older production, thought that was really impressive as well.

Hey Mark -- for an old mix and for only your second song this sounds great. Your creativity is really shining on this one. Right around the ~2:40 mark you started throwing in some guitar work that reminded me of one of my favourite late '70's bands -- the Gang of Four. Definitely cool stuff!!!

I'm not really a country music fan at the best of times, but this song had an-off kilter flavour to it that made it more interesting for me. There's a definite Zappa/Beafheart feeling in the vocals and that does appeal to me. Interesting arrangement that i think sounds sort of "Garage country" Have i coined a new phrase/genre there? :-) Good stuff mark.

Not sure what happened here, as I listened to this days ago, and thought I left comments, but... senior moment maybe?????? Anyway, I really liked it. Nifty groove.
