Another Macbook Pro inquiry: 15" i5 performance

I am considering options for a highly portable setup and have a shortlist of:

Macbook Pro (15" i5 2.53ghz, 7200 rpm)
ATH M50 headphones
Tascam 122 MkII USB
Kork Micro Key 37

The session work I am doing these days generally consists of ~20 vsti's and and maybe less than a dozen audio tracks - which my current Phenom 955 doestn even break a sweat on.

Of course  I would be looking to run W7 and Sonar, with a smaller OSX partition for maybe exploring around in Logic one of these days.

I am looking for some feedback from those of you who are running a similar setup on the 2010 i5 mobile's( or even older) to see how well these systems handle different sessions. I havnt really been able to find many relevant benchmarking results to go on.

So if you could point out any potential problems with the above list working well together, or let me know how your system is working out for you in 2010, Id appreciate it.  I know the general consensus is that Mac;s are waay overpriced - but ignoring that, the size, design and ability to run a dual OS are what interests me.

Thanks for any input.

Rich

I sort of hate using windoze on my Mac laptop.
The touch pad doesn't work right.
Maybe with a separate mouse, it would be better.

A little self serving,  no?  And I know he sells both,  both the profit margins on reselling an apple is a lot less than a custom.

Anyway,  there are lots of reasons.  Way prettier and lighter for one .If the laptop weighs a ton, that makes it much less portable. Very well thought out hardware and design.  Access to OS X and the whole mac world..i could go on...

Thats why I am liking the Mac. I am not factoring in price. I would just like to know how it performs. How many vst's are people running, effects, audio tracks? I dont know as much about all in 1 laptops as opposed to pc builds.
