Very nice composition and playing/chops petelarmee!!! I like the classical/rock changes and the mix sounded good on my H-phones.

Great instrumental, sounds awesome on my crappy laptop! Wish I could figure out how to do that. Great playing on this too!

Yeah, very nice. I like the legato/slide-y feel of the main guitar melody. Reminds me a little of Vai. And the solo is very cool - good stuff. Mix-wise the only negative for me, and it's subjective, is the snare. I picture something with more pop and less open rattle.

Thanks for the compliments. Yea - I go back and forth on the snare. That mic picked up a lot of the hats and even with frequency specific settings on the gate I had to bring down the highs on the snare. I ended up mixing in a sample to bring some back some highs. It sounds better on some of the songs than others. Thanks again for taking the time to listen.

Hello Mannheim Steamroller! Long time no see! Very nice stuff, and I think your mix is very clean indeed! Guitar work is more than decent!!! Waaay more! The snare sound you have works nicely when it's a little buried by interesting guitar riffs. When it's solo'ed I think it's too ringy. Don't know if that is worth fixing. Your power chords support the lead really, really well, and everything has it's own space carved out in the mix. nice job! cheers, -Tom

Mr. Peter Laramee, I don't know what to say? I wish I could write a song like this. I could never remember all the changes. I love the way you end it too. You are a very good guitar player, and writer, and most definitely an arranger. How did you get the string sounds at the beginning? Did you use your guitar? The way it changes at :50 is great. The chords at 1:29 sound cool, so you mic'ed this? I would like to hear a tad more drums at those heavy chording parts. Nice. SC page bookmarked. Do you have a cd out? Jesse

Thanks man. I appreciate that! I don't think I'll be fixing the snare any more than I already did. I think I've spent a bigillion hours on it already. Hey Jesse, thanks for the very kind words. If I remember correctly the strings sounds from Dimension Pro (came with 8.5PE). I mic'd all guitars with 3 mics and blended them together (most of the sound comes from the e906) except the nylon string - that was a Rode NT1 blended with the direct sound. All guitar parts were doubled except the leads & melodies. Drums were played by my brother and I have 10 mics on them. Bass was played by my buddy in Chicago...I think he just went direct out of his Little Mark bass head. Yes, I have a few cds. I'm just about finished with this one (my fourth solo/instrumental CD, but the first I'm mixing myself), I have 3 cds with my old band and I've done a handful of projects for other people. PM me your address and I'll send you a few. Thanks again for taking the time to listen! Pete
