Another classic colab w/the Queen...

Janet and I did this one sometime ago? We've both learned a lot since then, and I didn't have this one on my site? We've both experienced crashes since then? So She sent me her MIDI files for the piano and orchestra. I changed the BPM to match the cover, and had to resing it. I also did the drums because Janet? Well... her drums? Well... She's a great keyboard player! :-)

I actually touched her up, and not in the way that I enjoy... I edited her piano quite a bit, mostly velocity? I'll bet that woman has one hell of a handshake! And I did the guitar vs. a harp on the solo? I know, the last note got a little "hinky..."

Still in all though? I think it came out pretty good :-)

It's at the top, My emaciated family member...

Any comments on how it may be improved are appreciated.

Thanks.

Robby thats great ... except a bit of melodyne ... in the intro ... would take this up a notch  ... after that ... things are vox-magical, brother.  (I'm certain you'll fix that intro, sir.)

Piano is most excellent (great job Janet!)

Mix is pristine and astonishing with envious guitar sweetness also.  Some wonderful dynamics and beauty here with your symphony exquisitely balanced!!!!!

    You rock my socks off!!!!

Thanks very much Phill, I am amazed by your ability to press on. You are an inspiration to me and many others in that regard. You are much stronger than me in that regard...

Regarding the warts? :-) Our warts define us :-)  I have many warts? Some in embarrassing places? All of them define me as who I am... I wish I didn't have some of them? And while I do possess the power to fix some of them? (Melodyne) I try not to use that on my warts? As I view my warts as somewhat of a badge? :-) I know I'm a singer? And some say a pretty good one? I don't want to polish my turds too much... I want people to get a wiff? LOL! Of my imperfection... I'm not perfect? But I'm close enough... :-) Pretty damn close! :-D LOL! But I'm still working on my art as are we all? The problem with being a singer? Is that when you're my age? You're on the downward side of the slope... God gave me this instrument? But time takes it away... It's been a good ride though? And he gave me more than he gave most? So I'm thankful for the gifts I've been given? And as they fade... Which they do? Again, thankful for what was given, and understanding of what has been taken? And thankful again for what was enjoyed while it was there. He's a good God. I wish I knew then what I know now...

Well, it's much better than it was, that's for sure!    Maybe you could play your bass on it, like Jim suggested.  :)

    Hi Janet and Robby,

Man, I haven't heard this tune in more years than I care to admit.  It sounds great, too.

Excellent playing, singing, mixing...and kudos for just saying 'no' to melodyne, Robby

I don't think that I remember this one.  It is much more melodic than the Hollies version (at least to me).
A really excellent job Robby and Janet.

I like the emotion in your voice, Robby. Janet's piano is very fine too!

I remember when you guys did this a long time ago.   I still really dislike this song so my comments are on the execution and mix.

It's well done, I agee that I think it could use a little more bottom end.   Vox is well done, I wish I had your range, which I was close a very long time ago.  Now I'm a low ballad crooner, no more high Eagles harmonies for me.  But I expect you could still do them.

The last note of the guitar solo seemed a little frazzeled.

    Very nice guys.

There's something about the drums that dosen't sit well with me.  Not how you have them sequenced or anything like that.  It could be the attack on the snare and something about the crash thats bothering me.

Hey thanks everybody, yeah no bass. I probably should go back and put one in, but it's hard for me to revisit them after I push one out.  And Daryl? Range :-) Wait till you hear the colab I just finished :-) Thanks man, and everyone else? And Janet for having the idea to do this and let me sing it.
