Another free synth

This one is starting to shape up into something interesting http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=387568 The price is right. If one in interested in presets the last few pages of the thread would be a good place to look. There is a collection of presets being assembled by one of the thread contributors.

I've been following that thread since last fall, intending to wait until the dust settles before trying it out. Have you actually used it?

I was a huge Oberheim fan back in the day and still have nostalgia for those sizzling tones. The original 4-voice was the first polyphonic synth I ever recorded with (it wasn't mine, sadly, it belonged to the studio). Not nostalgic enough to buy an emulation, but "free" just happens to be right in my price range!

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Yeah, the thread has been building for some time. Yes, I have played around with it a bit in the last month. I think it sounds pretty good.

I love Oberheims. I have a Matrix 6, Matrix 1000 and OB12 (not a true Oberheim and sounds nothing like one really!!) but could never afford the ones I really wanted. So I always wanted a good software emulation - I have tried the Arturia one which was OK and the Sonicprojects, again Ok (possibly better than the Arturia) .
Anyone tried this and got thoughts on how it compares?
I would download and try but will not be back at the studio for another week or so (in the bush at the moment!!)
Cheers
Nigel
