Another track...mostly guitar...some feedback would be of help

Hello guys,

Would appreciate some feedback on this track like the first impression, the genre, the listening impact, where it fell short and where it can be taken or anything you would have wanted it to be but it is not. Here's the link below:

Hi Kane, this is a nice idea for a tune, i like it, but the guitars are not in tune. sorry, don't want to sound harsh.

Hi.Kane, I don't know if the guitar's intonation is out of whack or not tuned correctly.  I was playing around with this and I keep hearing a little waltz in this, maybe an idea for you :https://app.box.com/s/pk9rfjwjew300qolk7r4byy9hors6nop

Hey Rik. I usually I go for a std. tuning. I guess my track sounds a bit raw. Could this be the playing or the recording or the guitar?

Both the tracks have the 'pub' in common in their names. :)

    Thanks,

Hi Kane, difficult to tell if it's the guitar, the tuning or the playing without playing your guitar, but it doesn't sound in tune.  This is definitely a nice tune to keep working on and I really don't want to keep going on about the tuning, it's just that I find it very distracting.

Really nice and melodic minor phrasing. One thing to consider when playing nice slow melodic leads like that is to try to add  violin like vibrato to the notes, not bend up or down, side to side parallel with the strings. Work them notes. Overall I did enjoy this, nice changes,  melodies and on solid musical ground.

A nice composition. I agree with both Rik and Grant's comments.

Thanks Grant and Andy :) I'll keep the said points for my next project.

Grant. The idea of this track was spontaneous and its creation was just like a flow. I wonder when and where will such an idea or flow of music come to me again.

Very simple so the guitar tuning is very important.  It would probably be pretty but the out of tune guitar just killed it for me.  Just one of those things that rears its head in recording.

    Warren :)

After going through the comments and listening to some of the tracks posted in the forum, I really feel I need to work on the tuning factor as well the playing part. Thanks again.

    Kane,
Nice guitar work.  At first I was thinking the odd tuning was on purpose.  After a bit I had to agree that it does sound like you are out of tune.  This one is worth revisiting once tuned up and adding some legato electric guitar might sound good too.  Just a suggestion of course.  Good luck and I hope to hear a new version.

I think it's out of tune, get a $20 tuner and strap it on there,  HOWEVER, I thought it could work as it is in a quirky funhouse kind of way, it had me thinking all kinds of crazy movie stories. So, when you tune it, maybe leave it just a hair imperfect!

    cheers,

    Tom, Tony.

I think I will take a shot at version 2.0 of this track. As you both pointed towards purposeful off-beat tuning and playing with imperfection...ummm I think I am a few years away from it :) I wish to have such 'playful' skills some day. Thanks for giving it a hear and for your feedback.

    Kane
