Another way to fill a track from 0:00:000... ? + removing enveloppes ?
I'm preparing a project for export to OMF from Sonar X1 (to be reimported in Pro Tools after). I want to have all tracks start from Zero. Might be basic, but only way I can think of is to go track by track, in RECORD mode and let it roll flat line up to the clip, then ''Bounce to clip'' - of course, it will be done automatically for all small clips ''after'' the first one on same track once I bounce... I sthere another (easier/faster) way to do this ? Also - seems stupid, but as I trimmed some tracks, it looks like I cannot simply right=click on a volume envelope to delete it (as I can do if track has not been cutted... Am I missing something or is there another (again easier) way to get rid of any automation (volume, pan...) enveloppes ? Rob

If I'm understanding the question. You could just select the region by dragging the time ruler at the top of the clips pane before export. You should only get the selected region exported.

Hmm but it is OMF... To start at Zero an easy wasy is to just slip edit the clips back to zero.... Lance

Ops.. ok guys I guess I missed a point here. While most tracks *are* start on zero, *some* of them (such as back-up vocals, instrument solos, ...) are *not* starting at zero (that is: I recorded only where they are starting. So it's not a matter of moving the entire project to zero, if I read your suggestions correctly...

ba_midi Correct. My approach or Wave's approach ? (for the latter, please see my re-reply below).

I think Lance is saying you can slip-edit each track (1by1) back to zero to produce what you're looking for... (not the whole project) I used OMF years ago - seems like one of the features of OMF is the ability to retain your track's starting position. ?? Have you tried a trial run by exporting and re-importing into Sonar. As a reminder, Sonar also saves broadcast wav files which retain the timing information. Another option...

Am I missing something or is there another (again easier) way to get rid of any automation (volume, pan...) enveloppes ? For an individual envelope make sure it is the active object selected in the edit filter (middle mouse button or press 'T'). For multiple envelopes, select the whole track, right click and select "edit->delete..." then make sure automation is the only selection and click ok. That will remove it all at once. Also check that you are showing ghosted data " TV menu-->View--->Display---->Display Ghosted Data" or that will not be deleted.
