[Answered] Anyone using X1 expanded with the v700 console?

Am curious to know how the new ProChannel works with the channel strip control. Previously, the EQ button on the console would cycle through the three fixed modules. What does it do now?

    Hi John T,
I didn't see your thread, but I've just posted one in the VS700 topic; I cannot answer you but I'm questionning too; In my humble opinion, it will be increasingly difficult to change the VS with the new expansions of X1.

In principle, I think it can work fine. Repeatedly pressing the EQ button to switch through the different modules works fine right now. The issue for me is whether this has actually been implemented or not. Or some other implementation, I don't really mind as long as it works.

Expanded should work as before with the VS700. The new modules should work just like the previous static modules did and te mechanism to switch through them is unchanged. The code was updated to handle dynamic modules.

Thanks Noel, good to know. I do a good two thirds of my mixing tapping away at that button :)

Sorry I might have spoken too quick. There might be an additional update required to the VS-700 surface itself to handle the new dynamic modules. There has been no change yet to the surface itself. We'll let you know when we have more information on this.

Currently the VS-700 surface will see the "built in" prochannel modules by default but not the newer modules.
However you can use all modules if you switch to ACT mode. Just click on the new module and it will be act controllable via the VS-700

Ah, ok, that's workable. Would be more "neat" and intuitive to have them on the the EQ button stepping through in the order they're stacked, though. I like the fact that you don't have to click on anything with the built in mappings, so you don't need to reach for the mouse.
