[Answered] Auditioning midi notes when using Keyboard shortcut to Nudge up/down

When you are in the PRV you click on a MIDI note  you can hear the sound. For example if the notes you grab triggers the snare drum and you then move them up or down they will trigger different drum sounds one auditioning them at the same time. However I've assigned keyboard shortcuts in order to nudge selected notes up or down. The problem is the notes are no longer sounded when I use a keyboard shortcut. This is something I'm used to doing in Samplitude. Is this an unimplemented feature in Sonar?

I think so. I also use shortcut keys for nudging notes in PRV, but when I want to hear the notes (mostly drums) I just use Shift+mouse drag up/down.

Thanks for replying. I had a feeling it wasn't possible. I guess I have to send in a feature request as anything that avoid using the mouse is a bonus.

Another thing you can do in Samplitude is to use the left and right keyboard arrows to select next or previous note. Looks like it's not possible to do that either as there is no keyboard binding available.

This was possible when I was using Sonar 2.2. IIRC it was Shift+Space to move to the next event and Tab+Shift+Space (maybe not) to move to the previous event. And you could hear the sound too. But I only did it in the Event List so I don't remember if it worked in PRV.

Although there are many things I like about Sonar I'm so used to using the keyboard to audition/move midi notes that unfortunately I can't use sonar for my editing midi needs.

Notice in this video you can use the up-and-down arrows to move the notes while auditioning at the same time.  Also the left and right arrows can be used to audition midi notes from left to right or right to left.

Also the midi note dropout bug which happens when you're recording looped parts with input quantize enabled is a big drawback for me as well. plus the fact there is no auto merge  of midi when doing loop/sound on sound  recording.

You know what? After my last post here I find myself wishing for this audition feature in Samp. Did you send in a feature request with the video? It would also be nice if the right arrow key could audition just hi-hats, for example.
