Any EastWest Symphonic Orchestra users?

There is a deal going on:  http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/QLSOGoldC/

Honestly I want it but the Ilok and the older stories about their software kind of scare me. I would love some input from people that have been using it with Sonar X1.

I use EastWest products regularly. I also have EWQL SO platinum +. I've been using an iLok for approx. 2 years now (version 1) and have not had any issues at all. And I'm not the only member frequenting these forums with a similar experience. I cannot personally guarantee you will never have any problems with the iLok system as I'm aware of horror stories also, but at the risk of repeating myself, the experiences has been..., positive and uneventful (it just works).

Are you set with the OS and hardware? What are you using?

I use it every day and will not hessitate recomending it for use with Sonar X1. I have the iLok v1 and never had a problem with it. I was very sceptical to it but took the plunge on such a deal.

The Play engine, libraries gets a thumbs up. And the iLok - well, still don't like it but it has never troubled me. If you want the library, go for it

EDIT to add: I have the EWQLSO Platinum edition - in case it matters

I have and use EWQLSO Gold orchestra, Ministry of Rock, Gypsy, Symphonic Choirs, and QL Pianos.  All are superior products and the Ilok key is no problem at all.  In fact you can install the library on an external drive and use it on any computer as long as you plug the Ilock in.

Yep, I use it every day and never had a problem.

And once you get an ILOK and see for yourself, you'll be happy to grab other products that use it !.

I believe all the ILOK problems that you hear about are from the early days of ILOK, and any kinks
    have long been sorted out.

once upon a time..... EW was feeling generous and gave away a version that does not require the iloc... it is of course a limited version but I use it and love it. I have hesitated on the bigger versions for various reasons.

Platinum here too with iLok 1. No complaints on either. In fact despite my early reticence to get an iLok it's far easier and reliable than many of the other protection schemes.
