Any Miroslav Vitous Symphonic Orchestra User?

IK multimedia's Miroslav Vitous Symphonic Orchestra is on sale for 50 bucks. Is it good, 64 bit and work well with Sonar X2?
I am interested in your experience and opinion.

    I have the CE Version (its a cut down version)

    Its dated, but still sounds very good and is very usable, you certainly will be hard pressed to find anything better for $50.

    The player is the down side. Because of it's age its 32 bit and fiddly. There is potential future proofing IF IK ever get round to releasing Sample Tank 3, but the release date keeps getting pushed back. http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=2709715

    Better buy the "i" app version for the iPhone or iPad...

    IK will be years in supporting the Program version...

    Pretty soon they'll release the new version.....4 years too late...

    and then you'll wait another 3 years for updates...

    I own it....it's a great program..but I'm running Windows 8 and the stand alone
    won't run (for me due to the Quad Capture Driver - none of my Ik Stand alones will)  
    I could switch to A4A...but I don't like it and latency is far worse with that....and, really, IK should have updated these 32 bit programs years ago...but instead has been focusing on 15 year old
    kids buying iCrap...( no offense to you iCrap users)

    In spite of what IK Obi says (he works for the company and HAS TO defend it) these
    programs are VERY DATED.  We've been hearing "Updates are coming" for almost 2 years
    and STILL nothing.  The last update to the existing 32 bit program was in 2010.  It's very disappointing from such a company.

    Alas...it is what it is....take your chances.

    I have a T-Racks Deluxe, SampleTron, and SampleMoog, for sale...I have 2 each of them
    from buying the Total Studio 3 Bundle.  Make me an offer I can't refuse...Mr Corleone. 
    Trades would be considered also.

    Bought Garritan Personal Orchestra 4 a few years ago. Pretty good value for for $149. It uses a fairly good SFZ player which comes in 32 and 64-bit versions, with multiple channels for output. Really easy to group multiple players into output channels for proper mixdown. I can't say enough good things about GPO4.

    Cons: it's 32-bit, and a long way from state-of-the-art. It has an awkward user interface, is difficult to program multiple articulations, and sample quality is inconsistent.

    Pros: very CPU and RAM efficient, multi-timbral, good built-in effects, and in practiced hands can sound quite excellent. It sounds better than Studio Instruments and offers a broader palette than Dimension Pro. You can use Miroslav samples in SampleTank, so if you have that and perhaps its cousins (Sonik Synth, SampleMoog, SampleTron) they can all be mixed-and-matched from one UI.

    This library originally sold for $4000 when it was cutting-edge a mere decade ago. IMO it's a genuine bargain at $50.


    All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    It is worth $50.  Has some nice sounds.  Works well with my 8.5.3. 64 bit system.  But I like East West Platinum lots better for strings.  I like the choirs in Miroslav.  I think I paid close to $300 for mine - assuming we are taking about the same thing.

    For $50, not a large gamble.
