Any NI Maschine Users? X2a upgrade and Maschine VSTi crashes

NI Maschine used to work ok in SONAR X1 and X2. But it just doesn't seem to work at all with X2a. Well this is my conclusion after uninstalling and reinstalling both X2 and Maschine 1.8.2 from scratch

The error occurs when the system tries to save the project. Everything simply comes to a halt on both Maschine and SONAR. The worst thing is that I can't send an error report because it simply won't get that far. When I am able to exit out of SONAR, the Maschine Controller appears to be still connected to the VSTi, and the task manager shows a background SONARPR process still running. 

X2a is the only thing I can think of causing this since I tried running the earlier versions of Maschine (which worked in the past) with similar results. Now projects that used Maschine quite happily in the past can't be opened!

(EDIT: I rolled back X2a and everything is back to normal. Found that applying just the X2 Producer Hotfix on it's own causes similar issues.)

Is anyone able to get X2a working with Maschine?
