Any SHORTCIRCUIT Sampler Users here?

Hi all,

I am road testing SC1 at the moment because I hear good things about it. I've got me head around most of its operations now but am testing it on a PC without an external midi keyboard. Anyway, I have a major feature I just can't get going.

    replace sample: Replaces the current sample. When a sample is selected within the file browser, it will temporarily replace the original, allowing in-context-preview of the sample.



I would assume that this feature will "Audition" a sample I have selected from within the file browser (meaning anywhere I have browsed to on my HDD) and play it back in real-time as the DAW plays as normal.... It doesn't do that for me. I get no playback once inside file browser.

I don't see how I can audition any "new sample" (even with playback stopped) without importing it to SC1. In Vsampler I could browse to a folder, 1 click highlight a sample and play from keyboard before double clicking and importing. Its seems there are other with this problem also.


I have tried on 2 PC's using RENOISE and SONAR.   Anyone seen this issue or know of a work around?

    im also a SHORTCIRCUIT user here aaamaaaaaziiiing sound softsynth!,

    i'v tried previewing a wave file replacement,and it do same for me here. i have to load it into the sampler.


    (but "as a work around") the wave can be replace quickly & easily with another one.)

    (im wonder if you have the same issue as me here,the open-close hi-hat dont work)

    do you have the same issue on your system?

    i have tried looking into the program & the manual,for a setting or something,but to no avail.

    but over all this program is amazing!!!

    Well that fact that I cannot preview samples before loading (auditioning them on the keyboard) is a deal breaker for me.

    I recognise the power of this sampler but without this feature I have to drop it. So I haven't looked into the other issue you mention.

    Try the forum which is quiet lately but lots of good info there.
