Any Scottsmen in here?

This is a seven-tune medley with my friend, Melanie on lead fiddle, me on the rest. It continually picks up speed and changes rhythms throughout the piece. It was difficult to follow her, but I did my best to fudge it.

    Hi there Scottytunes,
what a wonderfull piece of music! I'm not a scotsman but I love the music from the British Isles and I think Melanie and you did a great job in capturing the spirit of that kind of music and in the last section added an American flavour to it.It reminded me of a BBC television programme called the Transtlantic sessions where American musicians and British musicians played this kind of music. My only complaint is that the piece is to short.
Thanks very much for sharing this music.

I do like the progression in this. The increasing tempo makes this a very lively piece. I can see your problems keeping up at the end.

That's a fabulous show, and I agree, this sounds like it could be from the soundtrack. Just beautiful.

My mum's side of the family claims some Scott's heritage, so I guess that qualifies me to a degree.
This is a wonderful bit of music Scotty.  Exceptionally played and recorded.
    Thanks for posting this.

As a Crowley my origins are certainly one part Irish and the other part scoundrel.

Very cool medley, although it's almost a suite, my grandfather would have loved this to death!

Thank to all of you for listening. Mel is a young lady and newlywed, whom I judged in many fiddle contests over the years since she was about 12. With the help of feedback from the judges over the years she has come up through the ranks quite well. She does have some timing issues of slowing or dragging where she is supposed to be accelerating, making it difficult to follow with backup instruments. Oh well, I'd say she still did a bang up job on this, even if her  ill trained backup band couldn't stay with her.

Fantastic, Scotty!  there are, as you say, a couple of timing issues, but they're not too bad.  very nicely done, Mel!!!

    Chregg,
Thank ya Laddie for the listen and the sentiment.

    Chrome,
Melanie has moved far away and is out of reach, but if ya need a fiddle player I'm right here.

    Rick,
Thanks! I'm glad it helped your day off to a good start!

    Legion,
    Thank you kindly!

    Frank,
Thank you very much. Mel sure knows how to give me a workout....especially since I never heard the tunes before and had to figure out the chords on my own.

Fudging?  Fudging???????  Be serious... that was just flat out great.  Not only was the musicianship incredible, but the recording, mix, the whole damn thing was just a joy to listen to.

Okay, you say you won't be happy without a crit?  The clicky thing towards the end was a bit distracting from the incredible playing going on all around it.

    Kudos to you both!

It must be good because every time I hit the link to listen my mouse cursor just spins. Either that, or your on a download only to listen type of setup?

Sorry, I have a weak computer, so processing as of now just ain't working for me.

Why not use sound click, or some other host?
