At last a tennis fan! Well Novak is hard to beat. His defence is very hard to penetrate. Roger may not have the skills to beat him but Murray certainly might.

The girls were amazing last night. I was hoping for Li Na but unfortunately she could not do it.

I'm going to stop posting for while, this is one of the best games I've seen so far. How do I know when the ball is out?

I stopped watching tennis when Courier and Sampras stepped in. They were so dull, and Sampras' tongue wasn't pretty. I've watched only a couple of ladies matches since then.

Tennis has changed a lot since Sampras and Courier. It has got faster and more difficult and complex. And people like Roger Federer are simply amazing to watch. I do like Courier now as the commentary though. He is very knowledgeable and good to listen to.

Anyway Novak did win after all but although I was hoping for Murray in the end I think the better man won. I think Murray may have been a bit injured which did not help. But they both played very well and it was a bit titanic in its nature.

I enjoyed Tennis when I was younger, but in all honesty, the game just got to sophisticated for me to hang as a participant.

One of my best friends in High School had two sisters that competed in world events, including Wimbledon.

They had a court in their yard. Just volleying with them was humiliating. :-)

At some point I realized that I couldn't even train with our high school Tennis team... the standard was so high. So I started training with the swim team as I was surfing enough to be able to fake it with them. Ironically, two kids from that program ended up swimming in the Olympics. At least I didn't have to watch balls fly by me as I stood helpless. :-) I used to play Soccer for fun and scrimmaged with our high school team... our high school team sent 3 guys straight to the pros back in that era of US soccer. It was just a normal public high school... but it was the only one in the county so everyone crossed paths there.

Here I am talking 'bout myself... :-) the post made me think of stuff and friends that I haven't thought about in a couple decades. Thanks. :-)

If I stumble upon Tennis on TV now a days I enjoy watching for a while. The precision seems incredible.

    best regards,
    mike

I stopped watching tennis when Courier and Sampras stepped in. They were so dull, and Sampras' tongue wasn't pretty. I've watched only a couple of ladies matches since then.

The two worth watching these days, are the Bryan brothers doing their thing playing doubles ... it is a real treat and then some.

I rarely watch it these days, as I have not been able to play for 10 years since my retina surgery. I not only lost about 15% of the clear site on that eye, I also lost some depth of perception, that only now am I getting some of it back ... but it is hard ... I still see 2 balls coming at me!

You can imagine how difficult it is when you have three little trophies and got as far as 4.6 ranking here in Portland ... and I mostly played doubles! Left hook serve and volley player! I serve almost the same as John McEnroe used to. And I can still place the ball!

Hoping to get back into it, but since I stopped playing an average of 2 sets per day, I have gained about 40 pounds that I will have to work to lose again, and then see if I can get into the Seniors ... and play some tournaments ... I have the itch already!

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!
