Any Way To Avoid Auto Muting Of Clips When Editing In Lanes?

OK...

I'm managing to split where I want with no problem... I must have been doing something wrong as this seems to be working as I would expect it to but with one exception (at the moment)

I've got two lanes of MIDI clips
I split one of the lanes

Expected?
To see both lanes with all clips still active (not muted) and a split where I place it

Actual?
The split where I place it and one lane has the overlap muted

I'm trying to remember if it muted on that first split or if it was after a following split that resulted in isolating an interior portion of the original clip.... But either way I'd like to avoid constantly unmuting the area...

Thanks...
Keni

I ran into something similar, so my workaround was to switch to PRV. It's a lot less fiddly.

I'm not liking the auto muting and splitting of take lane clips at all. Are these things WAI?

Sounds like you're splitting out a section of one lane using the Comp tool which will automatically split and mute that section in other lanes. If the clips are supposed to be sound on sound, you want to avoid using the Comp tool. Hold Alt and sweep with the Split tool to cut out a section without creating matching splits and muting clips in other lanes.

Well that's not what's wanted. How do you record multiple takes without them bring split up muted after the recordings are done? Mute while recording, unmuted and unsplit after all the takes are done.

The original question was about editing, not about recording.
