Any harp players?
talking about mouth harp, in this case. I'm working on a cover song with substantial room for harp, a couple of verses and an intro ideally. It's a hard blues rocker, and I'm not a good enough slide player to come up with two verses. Actually, it's nearly completed but for the harp. If you're interested, please contact me at m_courter@hotmail.com or courtesy of our forum. I was gonna post at Techniques, but I know the really hep cats hang out here at the Coffee House. Thanks. Mark (Incidentally, the earliest use I know of the word "hep" was Sinclair Lewis in the early 1920s....Babbitt, I think.)

Mark, best harmonica player I've heard here is Frank Tanton 'NotNat', but he don't come around here no more. You could PM him though. Check this out;

No wonder you like progressive music!
Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

Hi, At one time I heard a piece of music, I think it was about 10 minutes long or more, and it was a chromatic harp (or harmonica -- who knows the difference!), with an orchestra and it was fabulous. It wasn't Toots Thielmans or Norton Buffalo, but I have been looking for that piece for many years ... I do not remember, but someone's name was "Russell" I think, but I have never found a composer with that name and a harp piece, or a player that did it with an orchestra ... the whole piece sounded like Jan Garbarek playing with an orchestra conducted by Keith Jarrett.

Best harmonica player I've ever heard was a guest at a Walter Trout gig. Felix Flannigan. He traded solos with Walter that blew me away! I guess with the right amplification, even a harmonica can sound like an electric guitar.
