Any to nudge the 'now' cursor forward and back one frame?

Sure would make finding hit points a lot easier when writing to film (without having to open a real video editor)! :-)

I don't understand the question but you can get adjust your nudge settings via Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Customization -> Snap and Nudge. Full info in the help file..

See this post for how to set up CAL files to allow "nudging" the Now Time at any desired tick resolution with keybindings:

http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=1365944

The main shortcoming for your purpose is that ticks/frame vary with tempo, and will often not be a whole number. So the Now time will not move by an exact whole frame and will gradually get out of sync with frame boundaries.

EDIT: ticks/frame = BPM x 16 / FPS

I'm not sure you need CAL files, as it's in-built functionality nowadays (see my previous post). You can nudge with any unit of time you set in your preferences.

You can nudge with any unit of time you set in your preferences.

That's for nudging clips or notes. He wants to "nudge" the Now Time.

Actually, now that you mention it, another workaround could be to have a short clip in the first track that you nudge by frames, and then use Now = From (I think G in X1 - I changed it back to F7) to set the Now time at the beginning of the clip.

And, of course, you can always set Snap to Frames and click in the timeline (or in the tracks pane if you have Left/Right-click Sets Now enabled in TV Options) to set the Now time by frames.

Sure would make finding hit points a lot easier when writing to film (without having to open a real video editor)! :-)

You can do that if Sonar's video window is open and there's a video loaded. Press the + and - keys on your computer keyboard's numpad.

Right! But the video window needs to be the one in focus unless its docked.
