Any way to get envelopes to move correctly in Producer 8.5?
Sorry if this has been asked before, actually I think I asked about it when I had Sonar 7 Studio, but anyway: If I insert say, 8 new measures at the beginning of my song in Sonar Producer 8.5, is there a way to make it so the envelopes get bumped over 8 measures as well as everything else? Right now, as far as I can tell, it doesn't move them at all. I remember that being a big issue in version 7. Or maybe there is a trick way of moving the envelopes over that I am not aware of..? Also, does X1 fix that problem?

Instead of inserting measures, just "cut" everything and paste it 7 measures over. The 'cut' dialogue has selections for envelopes, markers, data etc.

I just tried it, using copy and then paste, and then later tried cut and paste to see if it made a difference. All the midi notes are there but the automation envelopes disappear. When I used my way of doing it, just inserting measures, the envelopes are there but in the wrong places, as they don't move over.

I just figured out a way to get the envelope to move when using insert. If you right click on whichever envelope you want to move (but I have a LOT of them) and then select "Automation Write Enable" then it works. If there was a way to pick all of the envelopes at once easily, and THEN pick auto write enable, that would be great.

Cut and then paste with the detailed menu open so you can check to have the automation envelopes also pasted. RB

I just saw this and found the answer...in 8.5 you can hightlight all the tracks (top left blue triangle of each track) by hitting Control first track then last track..then ti hightlights all tracks then one click on write enable (red w on the track)...and blam!
