That sounds like the tweakers on the downtown corners. None the less, I'd venture to say before NAMM (Jan 13th)

I heard someone read early part of the first quarter 2011. I pressed him on where he got such info and he said maybe where Anderton hangs out.  Sounds about right to me though.

they can't set up at the namm show and give a decent demo with the X1 i have and i bet there will be plenty of people that have X1,a,asio there itching to get some face to face answers.. if it was me, I would send a mega patch with a new feature or something about a day or two before the show. knowing no one can/will have time to give it a real run through and push the limits and still make the show. then whoever is doing the demo can have a lil something left to dazzle us with.

Namm will announce DP 2.0.....to match daw 2.0
Beatscape will however remain the same.

The turkey is digested , the buzz from the wine is gone .. but there is still champagne bubbling tomorrow night.
I still can get over not offering a demo before the launch. It just like a salesman showing you a new car .. telling you about all the bells and how good it shines, but when you ask for a test drive, .. "Sorry .. no demo available " he said .. "take my word for it" ..
Would you buy the car?
A 30 day demo (or a non saving project) would act basically as a final beta .. lot of us would so be inclined to help and eager in making it work.

Nah. The bakers are notoriously slow getting the demo out in the past and in fact they've only ever had a few. 8.01 was the last demo and before that I think it was 6 after the first patch. I wouldn't expect the demo till about March 2011

Yeah, that was kinda weird using the 8.0x demo to check for 8.5
Here's hoping it will be sooner for those waiting.
