Anybody tried the Audient iD4 interface ?
I'm very tempted but it would be nice to know if anyone used it successfully with Sonar. My Presonus audio box doesn't have direct monitoring so I'm looking for an interface with one or two inputs with direct monitoring, for dubbing vocals or guitars etc. with a proper monitoring environment. The features of the Audient seem to align with my needs.

I've got one. The IO quality on this little unit is incredible. Be careful, though. Audient's direct monitoring is more of a cue mix, and isn't actually zero-latency. It gets pretty close, though. At 96kHz I remember seeing sub-1m somewhere. Would have to find the post again. Also, unless you've dealt with similar tech before, the 360-degree volume encoder knob might trip you up. It certainly tripped me up. :)

What tripped you up about it? Is it confusing as it seems to have so many functions?

I'm used to plain pots that don't have continuous 360-degree rotation, so I got a little confused when I set the encoder to 3 o'clock and didn't get any substantial output. Then I twisted it further and there it was. :) The encoder can also function as a scroll controller with the iD button pushed in, although I haven't tried it on CC data yet. ETA: Another thing to note is that the iD4 doesn't have the same converters in it that the 14 and 22 have. Different manufacturer (AKM CODEC instead of Burr Brown). They still sound great though, so YMMV.
