Anyone Ever Use AKG K-271 Headphones?

I'm looking at a pair of the MKII version of the aforementioned phones online, but reviews on it are pretty scarce, so I was wondering if anyone on here had anything to say about them.

How do they sound? I've read they can be a little weak in the low end. And what about comfort? I'm pretty picky in that regard, and am looking at these in the first place because of the headstrap design (which felt GREAT on Samson SR850s, but as those are open-backed, they are no bueno for tracking).

Any insight would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Hi DL1: for about the same price you could get some BeyerDynamic 770's. You should check those out as well if you are looking for some really good cans.

My only concern with headphones like that (and most others, to be honest) is the thick, solid headstrap design. That's the largest annoyance in comfort for me. That's part of why I really liked the Samson SR850s, the self-adjusting headband was VERY comfortable (not to mention the cushy pads). The AKGs look to be the only quality closed-back option with a similar headstrap design.

I haven't had that exact model but my friend and I both had the 100 AKG K 240 model and they were horrible.  Both of our pairs did not go very loud usually cracked and cut out at louder volumes, the ear cups cracked and got super uncomfortable, and the chords became frayed and the headphones stopped working after pretty minimal use.  Not to mention the sound quality wasn't all that good for a $100 pair of headphones.   I won't ever buy another pair from akg to be honest.  Of course this is just personal opinion on a lower cost model but id suggest looking elsewhere.

I picked up a pair of Shure headphones after my AKG and they are amazing.

See, I got a pair of Shure's and I was unhappy with them. Sounded ok, though a bit lacking in bass, and were uncomfortable (to my head, anyway). So we'll see =P Got the AKG's on the way already.
