Anyone Using Steven Slate Drums?
I've searched the forum for information, but all the posts on this are ancient. Anyone currently using Steven Slate Drums 4? SSD5 is in the offing this Spring, and I'm thinking of getting it. The samples sound great. Anyone have a user experience they can share? I read somewhere on line that you can't sync to the host's BPM when auditioning content for possible use in a song. That seems like a pretty fundamental flaw. I emailed a sales guy at SSD and he said: "I believe SSD5 will have this feature." Pretty amazing he can't say for sure. Hmmm... Anyone use/like/dislike SSD? Thanks!

I use it and like it alot. Very easy to work with. I've never needed to use that feature. I just play the song, open the plugin, and pick sounds and it changes while it's playing. I use it in Studio One and MixBus.

Just to confirm, you're using it in Sonar too, right? Have you ever triggered the SSD samples with third-party MIDI groove clips? Thanks.

I've done it. Works fine.

Good point. There's real time and Slate time. Slate time runs roughly at 1/2 the speed of a normal clock.

I use it and love the sounds. The Led Zep imitations are the best I've heard and overall I prefer the sounds over ADD2 drums. But, it seems a little awkward to use compared to ADD2. Also, I use a small portable Roland kit and I had to reroute triggers a bit which again, seemed a little awkward. Bottom line is the sounds are great so it's worth a little learning curve. Not sure if the auditioning feature always works with the BPM in sync. Seems like it does sometimes and not at other times and it has a goofy 1X and 2X option which just seems to play in single time or double time. It's been about 6 months and I still haven't mastered how to use it.

Hi all... kinda back late to this discussion. I used to get emails when someone responded to a post, but I don't seem to get those anymore, so I assumed folks had stopped responding. Anyway, thanks for all the responses.
