Anyone else have this problem

Of remixing songs you “finished” long ago? I certainly do, anyways, here is a song from a friends band I recorded almost a year ago with a brand new remix. I guess you could genera it as modern rock. Unfortunately I don’t have a sub yet so i would not be surprised if the sub lows might be a bit too much. The song is “Drain” and any comments are welcome! thanks

I've done the same thing before...think about doing it way more than I actually do, but it's always there: I think I could make that better now than I did then...

Well, I think you have The Warmth sounding pretty good here - a good mix. The lead guitar could maybe pop a little more, and the drums...something, but overall I think the band sounds good. What I would focus on would be the vocals - if you're going to spend the time going back there are a lot of places where some minor audio-snapping (if you have Sonar 6PE, that is) would tighten up the vocals, which I think would bring the whole song together just a little bit more.

Great job recording them though. Very clean-sounding.

All music was recorded and all in Sonar.

Sounds really good. I like this kind of music though. Its very catchy and I love there is a sick lead guitar part that branches to a nice solo. The vocals are clean and actually in key lol. For rock songs, its hard to keep a good scratchy sound to the voice without throwing it out of key, so good job.

Sounded good to me. Good job on the panning. It always seems to be a bigger job on remixing things. I find myself paying more attention to all the details a lot more. Good job with this.

Wow….and I was thinking no one else ever remixed any songs! Its good to know that I am not the only one who dwells in the lurches of the studio to fix those broken songs. Thanks everyone for the listen and comments.
