Anyone else's Internet going screwy about the same time each night?

Around midnight ET every night my Internet connection starts playing up. First of all I'll notice everything slowing down in general. Then everything will stop loading. Windows troubleshooting says the DNS server isn't responding. Resetting the modem doesn't help. Then, I'll notice some sites start becoming available again while others remain inaccessible. YouTube will load pages, but it won't play videos. Facebook will load but I can't post anything. Then everything goes down again, and then eventually it'll fix itself sometime in the wee hours. Just wondering if this is just a Time Warner Cable thing or if the whole damn network is playing up. Google in general seems much slower than usual, even during the day.

Hmm, the girlfriend has just told me same thing happening to her connection every night at the same time too. I bet Time Warner Cable is to blame, their network in NYC is junk and is always playing up.

Could be backups starting for your ISP.

I think this could have some bearing on it, I get it at the same time too around midnight which of course due to time difference would be a different time of day to you guys.

Sometimes the connection slows to a crawl (or rather more of a crawl than usual) and sometimes I'll get a red light on my router that says the connection has dropped completely even though the carrier stays up.

It's been happening here for years to the point I just expect it now at around the witching hour.

I had the same thing going on last week, but it was all day long for about 2-3 days.  Only certain sites though...including the Comcast (my ISP) home page and Facebook.  Other sites acted normally.  It was most noticeable on IE9, Chrome was better, and Firefox may have been even better.

    Cheers!

In that case, maybe some of the main routers were down?  Kind of like when a main road is closed for maintenance and you have to use side roads to get around the closure.

Hmmm, maybe some Luddite fishes have been nibbling away at that big cable under the sea.
