Yeah, I reverted to the old version. Why do they do that?

James, it says at the top of the page (when reverted to old version) that there are like 20 some days before the new version is fully implemented. I assume that means we all be there like it or knot.

    It works better for me.

Uploads are much better. The old one I could only
upload three at a time and then may only have two make it.
Now it's not an issue....I think I've done up to 6 at a time.

Took a little getting use to but yeah, it's better for me.

Kind of surprised too...I use IE8 and seem to have trouble with everything.
Really to the point that I don't use the computer as much....probably a good thing.

Man it sux. Not as bad as this forum software, but it truly sux.
It would help if you would give us more to work with.
You'll notice that most of us have our system spec's in our signatures so we don't have to keep typing them for every question.
What have you done to rectify the issue thus far?
Why do people always blame photobucket? 99.94563322147846% of the time it's the inadequacy of the user and their system, NOT photobucket.
If it was a PB bug don't you think that more complaints than your's would be here?
Again, we cant tell because you refuse to give us your system spec's or more info. You keep dodging the questions we ask and all you can say is that 'it sux'. Either help us help you or go troll some other forum.

    mikeny Mike

It seems that every time I log into photobucket they change the site. Then I have to look around and read stuff.
The whole thing just reeks of effort and quite frankly I'm not a fan of effort and such.
I say we boycott PB and move to another photo hosting site.
    Any recommendations on new sites?

There's a new version? It couldn't be any more craptacular than the old new version... could it?

After the last redesign I pretty much gave up on it. Just like Facebook. I hate when companies take a working product and fiddle with it endlessly until it's next to useless.

It took me 4 edits to get the damn strike-thru to take.
Every edit would change the the whole layout of my post.

The most annoying software I deal with is this forum.

It would be sweet if we could all tell Cake we're done with these forums till they get them fixed.
We could all move over to Danny Danzi's forums for the meantime.

Are sotware companies run by the government? Is there a Department of Buckets? That would explain the constant changes and no improvement.

"Hey, this conun drum isn't working right!" "OK, we will fix change it after we fix change something unrelated that isn't broken".

I don't know if it's quite to the status of sucking.  I did notice that it wasn't intuitive to re-arrange the order of photos once they were uploaded.  I didn't spend much time trying to figure it out, so I won't blame the software entirely.  It just wasn't obvious to do something I didn't have any problem doing with last year's NAMM photos.

    Jan,

    For me:

Forget the porganizing (for now). I just hate how they now decide how much of the foto I get to see in that now stoooopid three across layout. And now it's three clicks to get a URL.

    Stooopid Stoooopid Stooooid.

They may well not be getting a paid update from me next cycle and I may move somewhere else.
(so that I can be pissed in a year's time when they change that too)

I can't argue with those points.  Oh yeah, I wasn't thrilled about uploading to one place and then having to move it to the "album".  That was very time consuming.

I don't like Photobucket - every time I do an image search and the result I want is Photobucket hosted, it always seems to take an age to load. Flickr has always been way better. And Picasa's well worth a look also, the app that comes with it is great.

LOL Mike! Yeah, I kinda like my forum....everyone is welcome there of course and I'd make everyone mods so I'd not be censoring anyone. :) The only glitch with my forum that I can't seem to fix (eventhough they claim my latest update fixes it) is, if you are posting a decent size post and move your mouse off the posting screen, it will auto-scroll back to the beginning. As long as you keep your cursor in the text box, you're fine. It's the weirdest thing...but everything else is great and it formats perfectly no matter what browser you use.

Ed, I can edit your post count to 50,000 if you like after 1 successful post. :)

It's absolutely useless. A classic case of form over function. A bit like X1, everything seems to take an extra click to accomplish what you want to do. For example, I only have the 'Direct Link' field visible under an image and on the old version I just had to click in there to copy it. Now I have to right click and select 'Save'.

And I don't want to tell a 'story' or slide in images from Facebook, or any of the other crap.

I tried it out when they first gave us the option but swapped back once I had the chance. I even filled out the bit about why I was changing back and left my email address after agreeing to be contacted about my decision. I did get a short survey off them which I filled in with all my gripes and moans but haven't heard anything since.

Mind you, at the end of the day it is free, so I suppose you can't really complain too much. It just seems so daft to change something for the sake of changing it - especially when the old version works perfectly well.

I did get a short survey off them which I filled in with all my gripes and moans but haven't heard anything since.

Mind you, at the end of the day it is free, so I suppose you can't really complain too much. It just seems so daft to change something for the sake of changing it - especially when the old version works perfectly well.

It's always worth telling them what you think. I use the Toodledo task app on the iPhone, and recently they rolled out an update which totally changed the look and feel of the whole program. It was absolutely terrible, and I'm not one to moan simply because something looks different to how I'm used to. Within days they rolled out a new update which reverted it back to the original, with a note saying that they were doing it because of an overwhelmingly negative response.
