Anyone here familiar with "YouTube email"??

We recently "cut the chord" on our Uverse and now I have OTA, Hulu and Amazon Prime.  We've got a "smart" tv so I watch a fair amount of YouTube as well.  Just a week or so ago I discovered YouTube channels (I know...I'm such a Ludite) and subscribed to several.  One of which was Vsauce.  Yesterday I got an email promo for something Vsauce would be showing but something was very peculiar about this email.  When it was the active screen on my iPad the trash can disappeared and was replaced by a file cabinet.  there was literally no way to delete it.  I could only file or "hide" it.  I tried Googling to find an answer but came up empty.  Does anyone here know about such "non-deletable" emails??  And, is there a way to get rid of it?
 
I went back to YouTube and unsubscribed to everything I had initially subscribed to just in case.

    Yea...I add too. 2+2=4, 4+4=8, 8+8=16...but not with this email. It's like 1-1 still equals 1!!??

    And that ain't right!
