    Re:Anyone on YouTube? 2011/04/01 06:15:46 (permalink)
    Hi,
    This was my first post trial so I did an easy track. I played guitar into a TVS3 Echo devise -Pod Pro AC15 fawn patch-into the Edirol UA-4fx USB interface and then into Sonar 8.5. ( I was'nt actually going to post it but only to see if the proceedure worked but my daughter talked me into it)
    I tweaked in Sonar using the track EQ and Multiband Compressor plugin on Vintage Hard for the two tracks which consisted of a full backing track and my lead guitar. You can just about see the wav file as it records with a live take. Even though I'm 65 I found Sonar fairly simple and I like the plugins but probably only use 25% of its capability. I used to have a BR 1200 and I would say its sound quality was marginally better but its really outweighed by Sonars overall advantages.
    I then married up the video and the recorded master track in Windows Movie Maker, synced it (which was a nightmare) and Uploaded it to Youtube.
    I know some guys have got all this process nailed quickly but it was quite daunting for me and took a lot of time however I now have a basic idea of what to do so I will refine the proceedure soon.
    I have actually just bought a Zoom Q3HD camera from Amazon (arriving shortly I hope) to simplify things and get better pictures. I also have Sony Vegas pro 9 ready to go as Windows Movie maker does'nt support HD.
    Hope this helps,
    Tony

    I'm still finding my way around Sony Vegas, so these are a little basic, but it's a start!

    For something a little better quality, we had 4-5 tunes featured on the soundtrack of this travelogue recently;

    Hey, glad you like Peacock - it's usually a little too esoteric for most people, I think :)   And much thanks for the nice compliment about Keep Me To Myself  :)

    I listened to some of your songs - very nicely recorded and arranged - your voice (I assume it's you) reminded me a little of Greg Lake (and that's a good thing!).

    So can you play your music on Second Life. I'm not familiar with Second Life. I quickly looked at it and it reminds me of Michael Nesmith's Videoranch3D which is cool.

    Yes! I play somewheres close to 20 one hour shows per week in there, rates vary but 10 to 20 dollars per show plus tips. Not a get rich quick scheme but it keeps me in shapes, keeps me learning new songs, and keeps me very active with Sonar making my little backing tracks.
