Anyone seeing this in PRV in X3 (and X2)?

After copying and/or pasting in the PRV, I immediately lose control of my zoom functions via Ctrl/ left/right arrow. I need to click on the ruler to reactivate it. A very small thing but it drives me nuts (as the small things are wont to do). Is this something unique to me?
Thanks
David

I was unable to reproduce the problem using this test plan
    create a MIDI track
    open the PRV
test Ctrl w/ arrow keys (result: zoom OK)
add a few notes to the PRV
test Ctrl w/ arrow keys (result: zoom OK)
    lasso copy and paste notes
test Ctrl w/ arrow keys (result: zoom OK)

Is there a more detailed description of how to make the zoom fail?

    Hi Scook
This is odd. On two different machines of mine using both X2 and X3 I have the symptom. It's following the pasting that I loose the Ctrl/arrows function. This is with both Paste and Paste Special. It could perhaps be that a shortcut I have somewhere is interfering with things. I'll back up my shortcuts and zap them and see what happens.
    Again, thanks

IDK, I tried again using the menu Copy and Paste commands instead of keyboard shortcuts and Ctrl+Arrow zoom in/out worked fine. I did not test X2a Producer only X3d Producer.

Cheers Scook. Ill try again when I get to work in the morning and I'll get back. It has to be a shortcut I use to paste. Probably Shift/F2. I've used that since about DOS 4 :-)

I just bound Shift+F2 to paste, performed the steps in #2 above using Ctrl+C to copy and Shift+F2 to paste. The Ctrl+arrow zoom keys worked OK. I have been using a mouse clicking the PRV to position Now before the paste. Maybe save off your personal directory, export keyboard shortcuts and re-personalize SONAR by Ctrl+Shift when launching SONAR.

Hi Scook. I fear I have been leading you slightly astray, though the issue remains and I'm now sure it's a bug as I can demonstrate this over 2 versions on 3 machines.

I have only ever used what is now called Special Paste. When I was referring to Paste I meant Special Paste: Sorry. I've been using this program every day for 20 years and did not know there was any other kind :)

So ... with Sonar booted using Ctrl/Shift and my keybindings zapped, I copy some notes using the menu option to Copy. I then (ordinary) Paste using either the menu option or Ctrl/V. All good. But when I attempt to Special Paste using either the menu option or Ctrl/Alt/V, I lose use of my Ctrl/arrow zoom.

Again, this a small issue but I do a lot of midi and this is an embuggerance that makes me crazy. Grateful if you could check it out.
    Cheers, David

Yes, using the Paste Special dialog is different than performing the Paste function. Calling up the Paste Special dialog causes a shift in focus. Destroying the Paste Special dialog box does not return the focus to the PRV. This has been the case since the skylight interface was introduced with X1. Whether it is a bug or not depends on ones definition of bug. It is a by-product of the new interface.

Oh well: I guess we don't live in a stable universe. I'll re-jigger my presets so I don't always use Special Paste by default. Thanks for taking the time to go through this.
    Cheers, David

Yeah, focus should return to the prv, another skylight bug IMO, at least it's workaroundable

Well, it does in Track View, so I can't see why it shouldn't in PRV - unless there is a step of logic that escapes me.

You have answered you own (implied) question which is "Where does the focus go when the 'Paste Special' dialog is destroyed?" The answer is the Track view. To refocus the PRV, without using the mouse try SHIFT+D or 2x(SHIFT+D) to restore the PRV state assuming the PRV is docked.
