Anyone tried the Mikes at Wiremicrophone?

I just found this link and it seems almost too good to be true $59.00 for a tube mike?

I would stay away. They also make SM57 clones that get bad reviews. "Not worth the 9 dollars I paid", etc.
I'm sure the mic works but any goodness from the tube circuit is going to be negated by cheap mic element design.
My experience with cheap Chinese stuff = no quality control.
Save some more money and get a reputable brand.

The terrible thing is this is how a lot of new businesses start up and look for their place in the market.
Because I used to own a music store I get Emails from Chinese manufactures asking If I'm interested in their products. The world has changed and just about anyone with some backing money can start a new business and have the products produced for next to nothing in China.
In the old days you sort of needed more of a commitment to quality and an understanding of what you where making. Now it only needs to "look" the same and a 10 minute search of the internet to find your market.
Myself I play it safe and mostly I only purchase from companies I always dealt with.
I'll take the odd chance on some super deal as long as it can be sent back.

In general you get what you pay for.  The ART MP Tube preamp/DI is a nice little unit, making a nice splitter and an OK pre/DI.  What is not nice is the starved plate tube the signal passes thru.  The only thing I've found it somewhat useful for is getting a fluffy bass DI sound if you use any drive at all.

That doesn't mean the only worthwhile tube mic is a $5000 German Hitler-mic clone or an original Neve pre.  But the components and design make those classic hardware, and there isn't any way to get that quality spending a penny on the dollar even if you don't hand solder every little thing.

even the "better" Chinese mics, ala Oktavia  Samson, MXL CAD have mic mods offered for them  so in other words theose brands have "some" quality but can be upgraded,

bow do you spend the money for the cheapy and then mod it or buy something better initially.

you know with the modded mic your not getting a U87 ,
