Anyone use a gain plug after their reverb on a send?

I noticed that I had to crank my sends pretty high on tracks to hear some of my reverb sends - just not much coming off the sends. Put in a gain plugged and jacked up the reverb and the mix knobs became more usable.

Maybe I missed something in the setup?

I don't know any reverb that would need such a treatment.  Make sure they are set to 100% wet on the reverb settings.  I am usually trying to pull it down.
